Now here’s a rare chance to see Gwynedd’s Italianate folly of Portmeirion out of hours and without the crowds. At Portmeirion Motorhome Park, the pitch price includes entry into the village itself – and as an added bonus, you also get complimentary use of the heated outdoor swimming pool. For those who aren’t yet familiar with the pretty Portmeirion village, the buildings are Italianate in style, although the village is on the north coast of Wales and sits right on the edge of Eryri National Park (formerly Snowdonia). While you’re there, make the most of the village’s attractions: go shopping for patterned Portmeirion pottery, or choose between fine-dining restaurants and cafés selling regional produce to stave off any hunger pangs. If you’re in the mood for some R&R, your best bet is to book a rejuvenating treatment at the village’s luxury spa. But back to those touring pitches. The motorhome park is sheltered by trees and planted with colourful hydrangeas, so it's a peaceful and pretty place. The hardstanding pitches are all serviced with drinking water and an electric hook-up and can cater for all sizes of motorhomes and campervans. A clean shower block is also on hand and includes accessible amenities.

Gostou Absolutely loved everything!! Spotless facilities, pretty floral surrounded pitches, electric with your own water supply, short stroll into village, free access to outdoor heated pool (luxury as we hit the heatwave!). Once checked out at 11am you can move up the road to free carpark and still use the village and pool for another day!!!! Oh and the coastal walk to lighthouse was amazing and the woodland walks! Such value for money !

Gostou Very picturesque the camping site where we had all come from was very clean and tidy as weather washrooms et cetera the hotel bar staff are very friendly most of them anyway the views the walk is very relaxing

Não gostou Some of the toliets through the village weren’t that clean, including the one in the hotel, which was quite shocking really the ones in camp site where stunning and clean. Also think that eatery’s need to be open a little later in village and maybe a little more varied

Gostou Location was fantastic. Shower and toilets were top quality as there in main office block building. Nice pitches. Very warm welcome.. The bonus is the entry into swimming pool with free towels. And being able to stay in portmeirion after the crowds left . Very nice place.

Gostou The welcome at Reception was wonderful. Facilities were exceptionally clean and we loved having access to the village on the evening. The pool access was an added perk. We will be back. It was so relaxing!

Gostou Het feit dat ik deze plek niet gemist heb op onze reis door Wales. Wat een PRACHTPLEK. Portmeirion is sprookjesachtig, net een pretpark, maar dan zonder hamburgertenten! We waren er laat op de middag maar hebben nog kunnen zwemmen (is inbegrepen). Daarna even eten en wandelen langs de huisjes en het water. Nogmaals prachtig. Na 6 uur zijn de dagjesmensen weg en heb je bijna het rijk alleen. Het aanwezige personeel zijn hele vriendelijke mensen, van lifeguard tot ober tot portier. Ze doen allemaal de extra stap. Tenminste bij ons… voorbeeld, bij het zwembad zijn 2 stoelen vrij, dan haalt de lifeguard er een 3e stoel bij. Zo gastvrij, super.

Não gostou Deze beoordeling gaat over de camping, het Motorhome park. Daar is helaas wel wat op aan te merken. Er is 1 plekje om je afwas te doen. Bij drukte is dit te weinig. Er zijn 3 heren en 3 dames douches. U raadt het al, bij drukte… de faciliteiten zijn op zich netjes en schoon, maar de herendouches liepen niet door en dit zorgde voor een waterballet in de zaal. Als laatste hebben alle plekken een zitbankje. Dat is echt top… alleen zijn ze versleten met bladerverf. Terwijl de rest van het park echt top verzorgd is. Kortom, zeker een aanrader maar bezoek is vooral gericht op park en niet op overnachting.

Gostou Excellent size pitch and very private Shower and toilet facilities were fantastic. Lovely and clean at all times. Hot water.
5 mins walk into the village and included in the price of the campsite stay. Use of the hotel swimming pool. We loved it. Highly recommend and would stay again

Não gostou Feel site would benefit from having a shop selling basic essentials eg bread milk etc to save driving to the nearest village.

If you’re keen for a game of golf while on holiday, you'll be pleased to hear that Portmeirion Motorhome Park is just 20 minutes’ drive away from a golf course overlooking the sea. Rather conveniently, the course is next to Harlech beach, a windswept bay with dunes and mountain views, as well as Harlech Castle, a grand building with turrets and a suspended wooden footbridge. This whole area is pretty well endowed with historic sites, from the ruined 13th-century Criccieth Castle (20 minutes' drive) above Tremadog Bay to the Ffestiniog Railway (25 minutes), which runs heritage train trips through Eryri to see the mountainscapes in old-fashioned style. Llechwedd Slate Mines and Zip World Llechwedd (25 minutes) are other fine spots to add to your plans – venture into the Victorian slate mines or brave the speedy Titan zipwire for a proper burst of adrenaline. For a more sedate outing, head to Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife (15 minutes). It's open during high season only, but you’re in with the chance of spotting ospreys – for wildlife fans that's surely something to boast about.
