Seeking some proper peace and quiet for your Dorset break? Tuck yourselves away among 14 acres of ancient parkland at The Inside Park, a couple of miles outside Blandford Forum. The team here have been welcoming guests for more than 30 years, with many people becoming repeat visitors over that time. And what is it that keeps them coming back for more? Well, despite being so close to town (very handy when you want to pop out to the shops or find somewhere to eat out), this place has quite a magical secluded atmosphere. The pitches are about half a mile from the nearest road, and surrounded by a swathe of fine specimen trees that are home to lots of wildlife (deer, hawks and badgers are among the animals you might spot as you wander here). Getting out to explore your surroundings is easy here, as there are about six miles of private waymarked trails running through the farm’s land – excellent for walking the dogs or taking the kids out to spot some of the aforementioned wildlife. There are also woodland areas for the kids to play in, along with an outdoor play area and an indoor games room with table tennis, pool and other games. The owners of this site have clearly learned a thing or two about guests’ needs over the years they’ve been running the place, so now there’s a good list of facilities, mostly located within a characterful 18th-century stable and coach house – a launderette, food shop and modern accessible bathrooms among them. Spacious pitches on free-draining land round everything off nicely for a comfortable, chilled-out countryside break.

Altamente recomendado, camping bem cuidado com espaçosas áreas e excelentes instalações, elogiado especialmente pela área infantil e trilhas na floresta. A equipe é sempre simpática e acolhedora. Gostou Loved the size of it, the facilities were good, excellent playpark and off road trails.

Gostou Brilliant campsite, great facilities and clean. Great for kids with a playground and a games room for older children. Walking paths round the site and a bike route where my eldest captured the sunset.
Only issue is the slip and slide. Daughter got a 20cm deep bruise and cut on her leg when she came in contact with the pins to hold the plastic down. She really enjoyed the experience despite this.
Definitely would return sometime in the future.

Não gostou Had some ants in our tent but I think this was purely where we placed the tent near the fenced off forest area or could be due to the previous tent.
WiFi was shocking. Got slow signal near the tent but none near the shop.

Gostou Inside Park is a very green campsite with good amenities and a very relaxing vibe; children playing, people relaxing, pottering about. Handy camp shop which sells all you need. Lots of walk and cycle routes in the grounds. Food trucks come to the site. Big supermarkets in Blandford . All great! It’s a gem!

Gostou The kids park, the friendliness of staff, the games room, the freezer for ice packs.
Beautiful walks in the local area.
Away from roads so very quiet and peaceful.

Não gostou The sloped pitches. They were extreme and awful.
The shop shut too early and opened too late.
The cleanliness of the bathrooms.
Says there’s wifi but never picked up a signal anywhere in the park even in reception.
Dogs barking all night from a local kennel perhaps? Either way they are very loud overnight.

If you're popping into Blandford Forum (five minutes’ drive) for a bit of shopping, stick around to visit the Blandford Fashion Museum or take a tour of the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery. There’s also a leisure centre here with a pool, and you can head a little way out of town to the Royal Signals Museum (10 minutes). From this handy spot within the Dorset National Landscape, there are plenty of lovely walks and bike rides – plus more adventurous bike activities at Okeford Hill Bike Park (10 minutes). The spectacular Kingston Lacy estate (15 minutes), English Oak Vineyard (20 minutes) and Sculpture By The Lakes (25 minutes) give different ways to enjoy the scenery. And of course Dorset’s fabulous coastline isn’t far off either – drive for half an hour or so and you’ll be at Bournemouth’s splendid sandy beach or at the ancient coves of the Jurassic Coast.
