Want to explore south Devon in any season? With scenic views of Salcombe and the countryside towards Dartmoor – but close to a busy market town with shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways, which can be accessed via an inland footpath or a bus which stops at the entrance of your site? Take a trip to the traditional Parkland Caravan and Camping Site in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a mile from the market town of Kingsbridge: this level, well-drained site in mature grounds is surrounded by natural hedgerows that are home to lots of wildlife to spy. Parkland has high standards all round, with heated and spotlessly clean hotel-style amenities including individual wetroom showers with basins and toilets and access to baths. Hot water is free to use and is heated by solar panels: Parkland is a green site with energy-saving lighting and has a strong recycling and waste disposal ethos. Other facilities on site include a dishwashing area and metered laundry room. For food, a pub is less than a mile away in Churchstow dishing up good cider and reasonably priced meals, with other eatery options in the nearby villages of Bantham and Thurlestone as well as Kingsbridge. If you’re getting the other half to cook for you, well done… and there's an on-site shop with fresh local produce and everyday essentials as well as local crafts, camping essentials and beach goods.

Gostou A really well equipped site with everything you need from a well stocked shop to spotlessly clean toilet and washing facilities. The private bathrooms were amazing - the best of any campsite we have stayed at.

A lovely quiet site, with a warm welcome and lots of information which made for a perfect stay.

Não gostou Just a shame you can’t walk to Kingsbridge and have to get in the car. The bus service was good though.

Gostou Location was perfect. Transport links great. Information provided by site was perfect and unlike any other places we've stayed. App showing everything from taxi numbers and bus time tables to restaurant recommendations. Best campsite we have visited. Shop on site was very well stocked. The hosts were brilliant, even giving us a lift into town when we missed our bus. Glamping Pod and private facilities were immaculately clean and well equipped

Não gostou The pod we stayed in was near the busy A road. This was unfortunately very noisy in the evenings and early mornings. Unable to use the smart TV as was reliant on WiFi which was too weak.

Gostou Lovely stay, facilities were luxury. Very quiet and friendly. It was great having the bus stop right outside the site. Had a lovely trip to Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Gostou Great location , Kingsbridge is walkable but why bother as bus tops outside site .
Amazingly clean and well looked after site . Shower/ bathroom facilities are best we have seen.
Shop on site has everything you could need.

Gostou Excellent and plentiful bathroom facilities including showers and baths. The Cowshed, a residents lounge with complimentary tea and coffee, games, tv, and even a workstation and laptop.
The licenced honesty shop, full of local produce and an extensive range of wines beers, and spirits.
The complimentary spa session at the nearby Dartmouth hotel
The bus stop at the entrance to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, and Totnes in the other direction

Gostou The location of the site is really good, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The local bus stops right outside the site entrance and you can use it to get to Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth (via Kingsbridge). This meant we didn't have to move our camper at all once we'd got set up.
We liked the excellent facilities, which were modern and kept exceptionally clean. We didn't have to wait once for a bathroom, shower room or toilet.
The campsite shop is open 24 hours, very well stocked and items are competitively priced. We also enjoyed relaxing in The Cowshed (customer lounge), which has comfy sofas, flat screen tv, large selection of books, games and dvd's and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. As we only have a small campervan, we appreciated relaxing there and catching up with the international football (also appreciated were the fridges stocked with wine, beer and cold drinks!)
The campsite is really quiet and peaceful and we found it most relaxing. James and Tracey are doing an excellent job!

Não gostou There was hardly anything to dislike and we had a lovely time. The only thing that would have been nice, would be maybe having somewhere safe to take a walk. The local roads are not suitable for strolling!

Não gostou Campervans and caravans on the grass tent pitch area. It would feel extra special if it was a tent only area.

Atrações locais

First up, Kingsbridge: the town is a mile away from Parkland, with two footpaths running from the park so you don't need to tramp the main roads. If you’re getting the bus, a stop is at the Parkland entrance; if you’re driving, there are several places to park including at the Quayside where there are markets, concerts and events throughout the year. Next, Salcombe, Devon’s most southerly town and accessible by bus from Kingsbridge. It's famed for its ice cream – try the rum and raisin – and you can also try boating and watersports from here, with tuition available for the uninitiated. Both Salcombe and Kingsbridge are in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with two National Nature Reserves, heaps of walks and trails, and several towns and villages including Dartmouth and Bigbury-on-Sea – on the coast above the biggest sandy beach in south Devon and with access to the tiny Burgh Island where Hercule Poirot went after baddies. Closer to home for sand fans is Bantham, the closest beach to Parkland and a serene spot for surfing, wildlife spotting among the dunes or slathering on the suntan lotion.
