We're sorry to hear you didn't like the toilets and showers, we're very up front with the fact we are a back to basics campsite with portaloos and cold water showers. The facilities are precisely as advertised. This is clear on our pitch up listing where it is listed in bold at the top of the page. We appreciate back to basics sites aren't for everyone, but we are very honest and transparent before people book. The toilets are cleaned everyday and kept to a high standard, but we understand some people don't like portaloos. Unfortunately a lot of the time people don't thoroughly read the details when booking, and we can appreciate that it can then be a surprise if people arrive without having read the details of what they have booked. To be clear to anyone reading our reviews: we are a back to basics site with cold water showers and portaloo toilets as listed on pitch up.

We're sorry to say you wouldn't return.

Our toilets were cleaned 2-3 times a day over this weekend, and from reviews below people staying during the same period also report they were cleaned well. Unfortunately we can report from when these cleans were conducted that customers this weekend were not very respectful of the facilities in-between our cleanings which is why we doubled our cleaning efforts. We also had more customers littering on site which was disappointing.

We were also let down by one of our suppliers this weekend, which resulted in the toilets being fuller than usual, which I imagine is what led to your experience. It meant we had to find a new company to carry out an empty on Sunday morning which is I imagine after you may have left. We have formally complained to the supplier and as per the rest of our reviews below this is not the usual standard for our toilets, this weekend was an unfortunate blip thanks to our supplier not fulfilling their contract as agreed. We can only apologies that this affected your enjoyment of the site which from the sounds of it you otherwise enjoyed.

Our facilities are exactly as advertised, as are our prices. Pitches are £20 per night and this covers up to 4 people, so you do get better value the more of you there are.

Our facilities are clear on pitch up. We highly recommend that customers read what they have booked in advance. We are very up front about the fact we are a back to basics site with portaloos and cold water showers, and all campers should be aware of this before booking.

We also do have 4 water taps with drinking water, which I'm not sure how you missed, they are very clearly marked on the map on the notice board. And are located nearby to the facilities.
