Ik was blij met Tania gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived and also gave us tips and info about the nearby area. We didn’t do many of them only because we were more than happy enjoying the campsite. She was available throughout our stay and we had some really refreshing chats with her about all sorts! She’s an inspiring person to talk to and for us coming from the city with our 9-5 office jobs, she really gave us food for thought about how we can be in nature more often. The site itself is in a beautiful, secluded location, surrounded by farmland and woods. Pitches spaced apart on the field nicely so plenty of privacy. There’s a private shepherds hut onsite which looked beautiful for anyone fancying a glamp, but we kept it old school pitching our tent. We loved the communal woodland area, even though we more or less had to place to ourselves for our stay. It was very peaceful. Perfect to hang out in (hammocks) and feel immersed in nature. It was especially helpful for staying cool during the heatwave this summer. The campsite facilities were in the woodland area. Two outdoor showers with hot water and kitchen/washing up area, and the composting toilets/bins are in separate area a very short walk down the woods. There were three fire pits, each with a nearby bench for prepping and eating on. The grills were height-adjustable, and there was lots of other useful cooking kit, like pans, pots, tongs, a fish griller etc. Fire wood and starters are free. One of our favourite things about camping is cooking with fire, and this campsite was perfect for it. Bonus points for getting the chance to meet not only Tania and her husband but also their lovely, friendly dog Skye! It made our day. Definitely our new favourite. We’ll be back!
