Ik was blij met The campsite was easy to find & just 5 minutes off the motorway, but really quiet for a peaceful overnight stop. The owner was very helpful on our arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Facilities were clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a walk through Gretna in the evening and found a great footpath to the estuary, where we enjoyed watching wading birds as the sun set.

Ik was blij met Staff were friendly and helpful at check in, paths were even and well lit around the campsite. Facilities were clean and easy to access. This was a convenient stop-over for us on our way south.

Ik was niet blij met Not a great site for young kids as right on the road (and you have to cross this to get to the loos behind the pub), not a problem for us as ours are older.

Ik was blij met Lovely rural location by a pretty village, friendly staff, great food from the burger van, relaxed site, kids loved the farm animals. Used as a quick overnight stop on our way from Devon to Scotland so was fine for our needs - burger van selling local produce for tea and breakfast meant we didn't have to unpack everything in our van to cook, which was a bonus.

Ik was niet blij met Portaloos weren't quite up to the number of visitors, no handwashing facilities or bins in/by the portaloos, long queue for the shower in a garden shed...fine for an overnight stop, but wouldn't stay here longer.

Ik was blij met We loved the rural location of this site, not far from Hadrian's wall, which we explored during our stay. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our pitch. Campers were well spaced apart, and there was plenty of space for the children to play (ours found toads by the old stone wall while they were exploring!) We had an excellent dinner in the campsite restaurant on the evening we arrived - we loved the quality of the food & great choice on the menu. The toilets and showers were busy but well kept and clean, just like the rest of the campsite. Free wifi was available in the main building.

Ik was blij met We were greeted by friendly staff & shown to our pitch. The site is level and kept beautifully, with clean toilets and hot showers. Although this site is close to roads and a railway line, we were not disturbed by the noise and it was very quiet during the night.

Ik was blij met The children's play area and adjacent woodlands were great for keeping our children entertained during our stay. Families were positioned near to the play area while other campers were in another area, so we didn't feel guilty about the children's noise disturbing other campers. The site was beautifully kept, with clean toilets and hot showers.

Ik was blij met The campsite is in a nice location, sheltered by the woods but with great views of the surrounding mountains. We enjoyed listening to the bubbling river and owls calling in the evening. The site is fairly priced; it is cheaper than many sites, reflecting the basic facilities and extra charge for showers, however we found the facilities adequate for our needs and suited to the rural location. The site was clean and tidy, and very quiet (we stayed in February). Our hardstanding pitch was level and well maintained. 4/5 rating given as we missed seeing any staff/owner during our stay.

Ik was blij met We arrived at Sykeside later than we had expected (about 9:30pm) and were pleasantly surprised to find that reception (with a well stocked shop) was still open and the staff were lovely. It was well after dark, but one of the staff took the time to show us to the best pitch where we would be able to put our tent up away from the boggy areas caused by recent heavy rain. We found that the toilets and showers were clean and warm, and the indoor washing up area was a bonus in cold October weather! The location is stunning - we were blessed with a dry morning and the sun rising over the surrounding hills was beautiful. This is a nice, quiet site without loads of lighting, so we enjoyed some star-gazing before bed, but a torch was essential to find our way through the pitches.
