There are more than just a couple of oak trees at Twin Oaks Holidays. In fact, this site on a farm in west Wales, is positively surrounded by them. They provide shade for the spacious pitches and plenty of potential entertainment – especially if your kids are in a climbing mood. Children who have never climbed a tree (and have no intention of starting now) needn’t worry, though: there’s lots for them to do here, starting with a play area and the chance to meet the resident animals, not to mention oodles of space to run around in. Located just off the A40, a five-minute drive from the market town of Narberth, this spot is a cinch for caravans and motorhomes to reach, and it has a hard road to park on (so there’ll be no getting stuck in the mud). You can wake up to views of the pretty Preseli Hill, then head into Coed Canaston Wood (five minutes’ drive) for a walk with your four-legged companion, a welcome guest here. There’s also fishing to be had nearby – just ask on the farm for details. Amenities include a well-maintained toilet and shower block with plenty of hot water. Keen to put your campfire cooking skills to the test? You can rent a barbecue or a firepit on site and prepare a meal with provisions sourced from Narberth. (There’s also a communal fridge freezer and a covered washing-up area.) If stoking up the barbecue feels too much like hard work, Narberth has plenty of independent cafés and restaurants.

Deze goed onderhouden camping biedt prachtige uitzichten en ruime plaatsen. Bezoekers prijzen de vriendelijke eigenaar Linda. Faciliteiten zijn spic en span. Een rustige, kindvriendelijke plek met een leuke speeltuin. Goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en ideaal als uitvalsbasis. Enkele verbeterpunten: warmer water en betere toiletdeuren.

Ik was blij met Lovely campsite. Very clean and well kept. Quiet and well located for lots that pembrokeshire has to offer. The kids enjoyed the park area and badminton. Having the fridge/freezer was also a big help.

Ik was blij met Beautiful site with large fields and a lovely view. Plenty of space for children to play and run around. Great location, with lots to do nearby. Owners were friendly.

Ik was niet blij met Facilities very basic with no hot water taps to wash hands/face, or even to do washing up. Fine for a short stay but not ideal with children. Also no WiFi which isn't ideal when the signal was patchy on 4G.

Ik was blij met A well kept campsite with a relaxed vibe. Perfect for the kids and dogs to play safely. Owners were very welcoming.

Ik was niet blij met Showers aren't very powerful and are only like warm, if you try to change the temperature they fluctuate between boiling hot and freezing cold, so like warm it was.
Bathrooms only had cold taps so you couldn't have a warm wash.
The dish washing area also only had a cold tap so had to boil the kettle to wash the dishes. Need a washing up bowl as the plug doesn't fit the sink. This area could be a bit smelly from the drains at points, which made washing the dishes unpleasant.

Ik was blij met Loved staying here, the owner was very welcoming and brought out bats and balls for the children and even brought up her horses for the children to see.
The site is very nice there is a small park for the kids to play on and surrounding fields for them to have a run around in. There I'd also a purpose built fire pit area with logs around it which meant we were able to have an evening roast marshmallows.
The toilet and shower facilities are basic but offer all that you need a nice hot shower. There is even a kitchen area where a kettle and fridge/freezer is provided for guests to use. Over all a lovely site and will definitely be going back again.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

The vintage-style rides at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) include dodgems, chair-o-planes and a waltzer, plus a Ferris wheel. The children might prefer to make a beeline for the animals, though, with exotic beasties in the zoo and meet-and-greet experiences in the barn (including lambs and miniature ponies). Stroll through the woodland at Picton Castle Gardens (15 minutes), admiring lush ferns, rhododendron bushes and giant redwood trees, then check out the winged residents at the Welsh Owl Garden or explore the elegant interiors of the stately home. You’re less than half an hour from the coast here, so when the seaside calls on a summer’s day, make sure you answer. Saundersfoot (25 minutes) has a sandy beach and shallow waters for paddling, plus a harbour with seafood restaurants and fishing charter boats. Tenby (25 minutes) has two sandy stretches either side of a headland topped by the ruins of a medieval castle.
