Set on an alpaca farm near Melton Mowbray, Grange Alpacas Glamping offers natty bell tents in peaceful surroundings in a fenced paddock. It’s adjacent to the alpaca fields and overlooking spectacular Leicestershire scenery. Delightfully decked out with alpaca-themed bedding and twinkly lights, the bell tents sleep up to five, and there is private bench seating so you can plonk yourselves down outdoors to watch the sunset. Thoughtful on-site facilities include The Goat Shed, where you can do the washing up and food prep, as well as two composting toilets and a gas-powered shower. Cooking equipment, crockery, a starter pack of tea and coffee, and a cooler box also come as part of the deal. As this delightful little spot is firmly off grid, you’ll need to bring torches, lights and your own food and drink. Breakfast or afternoon tea hampers are available (for an extra cost). Of course, you can pick up essentials at major supermarkets in Leicester (30 minutes’ drive), as well as scrummy pork pies from Melton Mowbray (15 minutes). A farm shop and an ice-cream parlour (sure to be popular with the kids) are within a five-minute drive. You can book alpaca walks and agility courses in advance, and the owners are happy to supervise you feeding them on site.
