Ik was blij met Fabulous and funky style! Very quiet area and lovely little village. Caroline is very friendly and helpful.

Great showers and toilets.

Ik was blij met I chose one of the worst wet and windy weekends. Caroline had emailed bookings to say the site was to wet for cars to go on. As I was cycling this didn't cause an issue. On arrival it was apparent the warning was well judged. Had a car tried to get on it would've got a foot or two into the field and churned the grass into a bog.
My alloted pitch was quite wet under foot but still useable. It was within 10ft of a water point. I couldn't be happier.
After pitching up I had a walk around the site. No one else was there. Toilets were good and the cafe eating area looked well worth a visit if it opened this weekend with the poor weather.
Later that evening a couple in a small motorhome set up just outside the grassed area. So I had the field to myself.
After a night of frost I saw the cafe was opening.
I had to visit. Inside the cafe was a blazing log burner. Taking the seat nearest this was wonderful after the chilly night. Breakfast ordered.
I had the full fry up. It was bliss.

Ik was niet blij met With the sloping site friction or the lack of, was my enemy. I kept sliding down my sleeping mat during the night.

Ik was blij met Beautiful set up, very homely and comfortable. Can only imagine how lovely it must be on a summers night. Helpful friendly staff & good full English breakfast with all the trimmings, fab sausages, however the bacon had no flavour. The addition of shower gel was nice too.

Ik was niet blij met Not much to dislike, just unfortunate things for our visit. Field was water logged so we couldn’t go on it, shower didn’t work but was fixed the next day.

As our first guests for 2026 (others were cancelled due to terrible wet weather), I had inspected the showers a week ago however, it became clear that one of them was not reaching temperature and therefore we called out an electrician as soon as we were informed, he arrived on an urgent call on Sunday morning and confirmed a part was required. At the time of the complaint, I stated there were two other showers available but as you were going out for the day you hadn't time to shower and therefore, as a gesture of goodwill I gave a 10% discount voucher for the café.

I am taking up your comment about bacon with our supplier. We have used this butcher for many years and have never before had a complaint about the lack of taste to this bacon, indeed, we have many people who come weekly as regulars to the café so I don't understand why it seemingly was tasteless - I will be sure to check it out.

For the benefit of readers - In view of the water logged field, I offered the customers another date but they stated they still wanted to come, I therefore made sure their vehicle had a gravel hardstanding pitch to ensure their vehicle wouldn't get stuck.

We do go above and beyond to make things right and when I spoke to the customer, they stated they would like to return, I look forward to welcoming them again.

Ik was blij met This was our 3rd year staying at Rural Relaxing. We stay in the Safari tents and us and the kids absolutely love it. The site is lovely and clean and has everything you need. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and play and it’s such a relaxing and peaceful setting. Caroline has always been very welcoming and helpful. She suggested a local pub (wheel and compass) that did a lovely carvery and there was a kids play area in the garden which was a bonus.
We love it here so much that next year we will be back there to get married, we can’t wait.
The local area/village is lovely and within walking distance

Ik was blij met Such a lovely site. It does what it says in the name - rural and super relaxing. We loved that the site isn’t huge and the pitch sizes are really generous.
The owner obviously cares about your experience, providing toiletries, logs (with an honesty box) and camping bits you can borrow. Also great to have a cafe on site too… breakfast looked delicious. A real family vibe and would visit again for sure.

Ik was blij met Lovely campsite with great facilities; clean toilets & showers, on-site cafe open on weekend mornings and able to order homemade pizzas on a Saturday night. This campsite is great for families.

Ik was niet blij met Not a dislike, but just a point to note - the campsite is self check-in, so when we arrived our pitch no. which we had been allocated had tents already on it! I rang the owner, but initially no reply. They then did text back, apologised and advised us on another pitch. I did receive an email the next day, explaining the mix up. It didn’t impact our trip, but if the site was full, it could have been an issue?

We always keep at least two pitches free every weekend plus long electricity leads just in case, however this was purely an admin error and the issue has been resolved.

For the benefit of the reader There is never a case where we have no space available it’s a small rural site and we take customer feedback very seriously we have checked to make sure this doesn’t happen again and are confident with our “extra empty pitches” that are always available. It was a busy weekend with lots of customers chopping and changing so again, space appeared limited.
We were however very pleased to hear Mrs King enjoyed her stay after this blip.

Ik was blij met Loved the freedom and the site, staff were lovely and the on site cafe was really nice.

Ik was niet blij met nice to have tv ariel point or wifi but we get the rural relaxing point

Ik was blij met What is there not like. I felt like I was at a French campsite near Le Mans it had all of that quaintness . Every where is clean the staff are all chatty & helpful. The breakfast with Lincoln sausages I had was spot on too. The previous afternoon I had the montane bread toasted with plenty of lurpak butter & jam & coffee. So good quality food items which just add to the place. Then Sunday morning walked into the village & there at the pub was a host of Porsches absolutely made my day & weekend. Will I go back its a yes from me & a golden buzzer.

Ik was blij met Beautifully kept site surrounded by lovely countryside. Great for walking. The cafe on site is fab and the village pub even better. Got to watch the end of a cricket match in the sun shine on the ground opposite the site.

Ik was niet blij met Two issues. Either in isolation not a problem but together were an issue.
1. The showers were not good. Barely any water pressure and not especially warm. Took so long to shower the lights, which were on a sensor, went out.
2. The stay was expensive. £74 for two nights. Happy to pay that if everything about the stay was top notch.

Regarding the showers. These are set at a safe heat so as not to scald people, especially children. Sorry they were not hot enough for you - never had anyone mention this before.

For the benefit of readers - The lights are on a sensor timer, to allow time to shower & use the loos. This is because we have had problems in the past with guests leaving lights on, and with the increase in the horrendous electricity bills is a cost we need to monitor in order for us to stay in business. it's a huge challenge.

We like to think our pricing suits what we offer, a small personal campsite with all the lovely extra touches - such as the shower gels, the café offering & campers fridges, we believe £74 for up to four people on a pitch for two nights is reasonable for the quality of surroundings.
Glad to read you will visit again though so let's hope we can welcome you back.
