For peaceful times in the Peak District National Park take a look at Longfield Farm, a small and friendly site surrounded by Derbyshire countryside. A 10-minute drive from the spa town of Buxton and the medieval town of Bakewell, the pitches here are well situated for all sorts of alfresco activities. In the surrounding Peak District, guests can pull on their walking boots and get stuck into several good hikes along the likes of the Tissington Trail and the Monsal Trail, each within a 25-minute drive. Dogs should find plenty to sniff out on countryside walks too, and cyclists can make use of the area's many dirt paths. For other outdoor activities to get the heart racing, there's kayaking, windsurfing and fly fishing 30 minutes away at Carsington Water, including taster sessions for first-timers. After all this, put your feet up at one of the local country pubs. Handily, there are several within a five-minute drive, including one with a large playground to let the kids blow off some steam while you nurse a well-deserved pint. This is a simple site with basic facilities only, but you’ll have access to water points, three toilets and a shower. If you don’t fancy a bite to eat from one of the local pubs, you're welcome to light up your own barbecue instead. Both Buxton and Bakewell have a good selection of supermarkets, or you can head to one of several local farm shops for meat and extras to put on the grill.

  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan. Denk aan de pitbullterriër en tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.

Rustige, goed onderhouden boerderijcamping met ruime plaatsen en mooi uitzicht. Vriendelijk personeel, rustige sfeer, dichtbij bezienswaardigheden. Basis maar schone faciliteiten. Ideaal voor een rustige vakantie, sterk aanbevolen.

Ik was blij met Small, relatively quiet site. Great views, friendly staff.

Ik was niet blij met Toilets and showers fairly minimalistic.
Only one shower, one sink and 3 toilets.
Adequate as it happened as we were up and left early and first in, however I would imagine this would be quite challenging an hour later and especially if the site was busy.

Ik was blij met Nice location, smooth flat field for tents.

Ik was niet blij met Overpriced. Unfair to charge 1 adult the same price as 2 adults. Toilet & shower facilities need improvement.

Ik was blij met Quiet, Peaceful, loads of room, anilmals on the farm are lovely to see in the fields.

Ik was niet blij met For the price of the campsite, especially when compared to others, the facilities are very basic and limited, when paying this sort of money i would have expected a little more e.g. Hot water for washing up was limited. All in all ok though.

Ik was niet blij met Very basic set up, not enough facilities, very little shade, outside washing up facilities without hot water. Mains isolation for the shower was turned off

Ik was blij met The pitch size was excellent.
The 12:00 leave by time was nice, could take our time and relax a little in the morning.

Ik was niet blij met The toilet and washing facilities left a lot to be desired. There weren't enough of them, they were very unclean and had ran out of toilet paper and still hadn't been replenished they next day.
No shops due to location.

Maybe we had a toilet paper thief on site.
The facilities are basic as stated when booking. Unfortunately we can’t meet everyone’s expectations.

The entrance to the site is on Flagg Lane (not The Jarnett). There is a signpost opposite the turning for Long Field Farm and Lane End Farm Trust. Look out for the fixed sheep pens at the top of the track, then follow the lane down to the site entrance on the right and look for your numbered pitch. If you type Lane End Farm Trust into your sat nav that should take you to the campsite.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

If your walking boots are a camping essential, take them over to the Tissington Trail for a fine 13-mile route through the Derbyshire countryside. The route commences a 25-minute drive away in Ashbourne. For a shorter trail, the Monsal Trail is 15 minutes away – it's easier on the feet with a less demanding 8.5-mile route. For adrenaline seekers, Carsington Water is half an hour’s drive away. Here, you can hire kayaking kit or try out windsurfing if you're feeling extra ambitious. If watersports aren't your strong suit, their taster sessions will help to ease you in to the relevant techniques. For other activities that will raise your heart rate, there’s an outdoor pool in Hathersage 25 minutes away and several indoor pools within a 25-minute drive. Further afield, take a whirl on the rollercoasters at Alton Towers, a 40-minute drive away and with plenty to fill a full day. At Matlock Farm Park (30 minutes), a collection of cute animals should keep kids entertained; they can give horse riding a go too or gently feed the lambs if they're seeking some quieter time.
