Fancy settling your caravan in a strategic location that will give you easy access to all sorts of attractions and activities? Take a pitch at Grove Lock Caravan Park, a spacious and well-maintained Bedfordshire site two miles outside of Leighton Buzzard. There’s a lengthy list of things to see and do in this area, so it’s certainly a place where you could easily spend several days without any danger of running out of entertainment. For starters, you might like to try Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park and Milton Keynes’ Snozone skiing facility – or perhaps head out for walks in the likes of Rushmere Country Park or on the Dunstable Downs? And of course there’s also the option of boarding a train for a day touring the sights of London (an hour away by train). The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here too – the site is right on the banks of the Grand Union Canal for easy waterside wanders, and a very short stroll from the local pub too (how handy). Everything on site has been well thought out to provide the best experience for guests – pitches are large and well spaced, with access to electricity and water plus a well-kept toilet and shower block. Kids and dogs are welcome on site, so feel free to bring along the whole family.

  • Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.

  • Er mogen geen reserveringen worden gemaakt voor meer dan 28 aaneengesloten nachten.
  • Commerciële voertuigen (voertuigen die gebruikt worden voor werk en/of het vervoeren van goederen of betalende passagiers) en voertuigen met reclameboodschappen zijn verboden op het terrein.
  • Kortingskaarten en cadeaubonnen kunnen niet gebruikt worden bij reserveringen via Pitchup.com.
  • De receptie is onbemand na 17:00. Verwacht je na dit tijdstip aan te komen, breng het park dan hiervan op de hoogte, zodat het team je informatie kan geven over jouw accommodatie.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 18 of ouder te zijn.
  • Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 15 meter nodig.
  • Als je vuur wilt maken, dien je de brandstof, houtblokken en kolen daarvoor ter plaatse te kopen.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.
  • Geen elektrische barbecues toegestaan.
  • Indien de receptie bij aankomst gesloten is: neem contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.

Ik was blij met: Very helpful and friendly staff. Flat pitches and plenty of hot water in the shower block. Direct access to the canal tow path and pub.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Not very well signposted from the main road.
Train line runs very close by and can be heard.

Ik was blij met: Large level pitches, beautiful location with fantastic walks along the canal and a canal side pub within minutes. Facilities were good and staff were friendly. Pitches were well maintained and lots of space around. It didn't feel like you were on top of other people.

Ik was niet zo blij met: If looking for a quiet site this one may not be for you as the sound of the road and trains continue into the early hours. We didn't mnd it though.

Ik was blij met: The site was excellent with amazing area and all services for a caravan. The toilets, showers etc were excellent and kept in good condition. The site is next to the canal and an very good pub. There are good walks along the canal.

Ik was blij met: Once again brilliant stay well maintained site, excellent shower & toilet block always clean. Staff are excellent good communication and very helpful.

Ik was blij met: Not noisy, occasional train in the background but not too disturbing. Quiet around the canal. Toilets & showers good, clean & easy to use. A very short walk to Canal pub (3mins) which serves absolutely delicious top class food. If the opportunity arose would certainly stay here again

Ik was niet zo blij met: Need to phone on arrival as gate is locked but you need to know it’s the campsite as gate says Marina, so slightly confusing. Then you need to phone at the gate for someone to open it so make sure you have the number. Once you’re in, everything is fine and dandy as the gentleman in charge was extremely helpful & gave us a set of keys to open gates to pub.

Ik was blij met: Very relaxed place to stay. Wardens were lovely especially Marcia! Such a friendly happy lady it was lovely to meet her.

Getting out for a walk is certainly a good idea around here, whether you choose to set off along the canal towpath, wander among the woods at Rushmere Country Park (10 minutes’ drive) or see what sort of trails you can find at the National Trust-maintained landscapes at Dunstable Downs (15 minutes) and Ashridge Estate (20 minutes). There are all sorts of historic attractions to explore nearby too, including art-filled Ascott House (five minutes) and heritage rides on Leighton Buzzard Railway (five minutes) as well as the famed Bletchley Park (15 minutes), where you can find out all about the fascinating role the Enigma machine played in World War II and hear the stories of those that worked there. Animal attractions are in good supply here too, so you may like to take the kids to meet big beasts at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo (15 minutes) or Woburn Safari Park, or make friends with cuddlier creatures at Abbotts View Alpacas (15 minutes, advance bookings only) or The Bucks Goat Centre (25 minutes).
