Mi è piaciuto Everything - smaller campsite so not overcrowded with good sized and well maintained pitches, thoughtful putting a bench on the grass. Very clean toilet and shower facilities, hot aswell as cold water for washing up and microwave, fridge and kettle. Quiet at night.

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly staff and easy check in - knew straight away we requested 2 pitches together even though booked months ago and it was busy, we didn’t have to prompt; pitches are a good size and maintained well. Clean toilet and shower facilities. Lake is awesome! Plenty of tables and space to sit around the lake. Cafe looks decent which we will try next time. No light pollution so lovely for watching the sunset/sunrise and for stargazing. Just everything is great, we’re booking again for soon, it’s already become one of our new favourite campsites.

Mi è piaciuto The location is ideal: within walking distance to a lovely pub called the Ye Old Two Brewers up the public footpath and then a very good leg workout up Gold Hill (with another stunning view) to Shaftesbury High Street and to more spectacular views. The actual campsite is great, as soon as you drive in, the view takes your breath away. There is a decent sized washing up area, a block of toilets which are always stocked and kept clean and there’s 2 shower huts with good, hot showers. The owner is lovely and seems to always be on hand which is much appreciated and not seen as much in other sites that are fields. We have stayed a couple of times and wanted to book again before the October close but unsurprisingly, it is fully booked! Will look forward to next year coming several times and would recommend as one of the best sites in the south.
