Mi è piaciuto Another excellent stay at Stithians. I can confirm that following my last review in May, the shower issue (water too hot) has now been resolved. As expected, probably just a fault when we last stayed.
On this visit the grass had been cut, which makes life easier, and the pitches are all nicely marked out, so you really can't go wrong. This time we also walked round to the dam, which I highly recommend. We're hoping to walk the entire perimeter next time.
All in all, Stithians ticks all boxes. It's peaceful, has decent facilities, and really isn't far from places such as Falmouth and Redruth.
Non mi è piaciuto There were some noisy people who arrived (you couldn't miss them revving their van), but thankfully as the afternoon went into evening, they quitened down. People need to realise that not every campsite is a hive of activity, and sometimes people come to locations such as this for peace and quiet.

Mi è piaciuto We stayed at Stithians a few years ago, then again last (bank holiday) weekend. It's a really nice place with plenty of room, and the added bonus of being next to a huge lake/reservoir. We didn't utilise any of the water sport facilities, but it's there if you want to. We had hoped to walk around the edge of the lake, but sadly it rained pretty much the whole time we were there, so we didn't bother.
The washroom facilities are good, which comprises of wet rooms with a basin, shower and toilet. There is also a washup area with 2 or 3 sinks, which makes life so much easier after cooking. The only negative was the fact the shower temperature was far too hot - literally, you couldn't stand under it. This was the same in another shower, so presumably an issue with a thermostat somewhere. Either way, it was quite dangerous, but could just have been a fault whilst we were there and has most likely now been fixed. This should not stop you from staying at Stithians, as that problem could occur anywhere.
On arrival the check-in was fairly straightforward - the chap who dealt with our booking was really helpful and explained everything including facilities etc. Obviously, the grass was very wet, so you need to use some common sense and drive carefully so as not to get stuck. We were in a campervan, so not too heavy.
All in all a lovely place to stay - quiet, decent facilities, and probably less than 10 minutes from Redruth. I definitely recommend staying if you're in the area. Just make sure you book in advance as it is a popular place and spaces go quickly.
