Mi è piaciuto We really enjoyed our stay at Langdale Lakes. The site has a lovely rustic, charming feel and, a little quirky in places we felt this added to its character and atmosphere. Our pitch was great and the fishing pegs were very good. We didn’t catch this time, but others did and as my husband says it wouldn’t be fun if the fish hooked themselves. John and Jackie, the owners, were absolutely lovely very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and clearly work incredibly hard on the site. Nothing was too much trouble. There are three toilets, two with showers, plus recycling and washing-up facilities. The lakes are beautiful and make for a lovely walk, and there’s a nice walk to the local pub. Takeaway food can also be delivered to the gates. Reception offers tea, coffee, ice creams, cold drinks and snacks, as well as fishing bait. Some fishing equipment is also available to loan if you’ve forgotten anything. We loved the peaceful surroundings and the relaxed, rustic feel. We would definitely recommend Langdale Lakes and will return as its quirky charm is already pulling us back! The pictures of the site do not do it justice.

Mi è piaciuto We’ve now stayed at Swan Lake twice and would definitely return again. The location is brilliant, there’s a fab pub right at the front of the site, and a local bus stop just around the corner which made it so easy to head into Lincoln. Lincoln itself is a beautiful place for a wander, and we also enjoyed a lovely walk down by the river and back, such a nice way to spend the afternoon. There’s an Indian restaurant just down the road although we haven’t eaten there yet. We did order a takeaway one evening which was delivered to the front of the site, and that was really easy and convenient. The host is super lovely and friendly, which always makes a stay feel more welcoming. The showers could do with being a little bit cleaner, but the water was nice and hot (which is a big plus for me as I love a hot shower!). It’s nice and easy to find, in a great spot for exploring, and we’ll definitely be back.

Mi è piaciuto We had such a lovely stay here in our motorhome. The views from the site are absolutely stunning, and there’s a beautiful little loop walk right from the site that takes you past alpacas and along a stream, such a peaceful way to start or end the day. The facilities were a real highlight for me, super clean and actually smelled fresh and clean, which I always really appreciate. The recycling setup was also great, which was good to see. The location is fantastic. We walked into Pickering and loved exploring the local shops, market and the pub with the log fire was just perfect after a day out. The only slightly nerve-wracking part was the single track road leading to the site, it felt a bit airy-scary on arrival as we weren’t sure where the passing places were. However, I understand this is likely why arrivals are limited to certain times to help manage the flow of traffic, which makes sense. The owners were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend!
