Mi è piaciuto Good communication. Friendly owner who gave us good advice around local pubs etc. Pitches were well maintained and perfectly flat. Toilets and showers were spotless. Decent pub with excellent food nearby.

Non mi è piaciuto Only way to walk into local villages involved walking on some fairly fast roads with no path. OK for us, as we were adults, but I wouldn’t have felt safe with the kids there (but it would be a very easy drive).

Mi è piaciuto We could pick our own pitch. Plenty of room. Decent showers and clean toilets. 20 minute walk across beautiful fields into Corfe Castle village with its shops and pubs. Less than 10 minute drive to Swanage. Just a very chilled and very relaxing place to be.

Mi è piaciuto This campsite is just on the edge of a tiny little village. It's between the seaside towns of Combe Martin and Ilfracombe (each about 2 miles away), and not too far away (about 45mins in the half term traffic) from Croyde, either. There's a decent pub within an easy walk of the site, too. The campsite was well maintained, the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, too. Decent little shop on site, showers were always clean and hot, and the onsite bar exceeded our expectations, too. We didn't use the fishing lake, but the pegs seemed reasonably spaced, with a nice island feature to fish to. Drinking water taps are dotted all over the place, as are bins, and the whole place was spotless. Nice little laundry room with plenty of sinks for washing up etc, too. Pitches are a decent size, with room to park right by your tent. The wifi works in the bar but not in the pitches. Good enough for me. If you're worried about wifi, maybe you should put your iPad down and go for a walk/cycle/swim/surf?! We don't have any kids, but there's a little playground for the little ones, a games room for the older ones and a pool table in the bar.

Non mi è piaciuto There was genuinely nothing we disliked about this place. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others we found on pitchup, but I think that, in this case, you get what you pay for. If you want a site where you can just stick your flip flops on and stroll to a decent beach with your surfboard under your arm, this isn't it, but the location is stunning and the beaches aren't far away at all. My only suggestion that might make this place even better would be a bike rack somewhere, so that bikes could be left locked up somewhere when you're not using them. I think any right minded person would agree that that's hardly a must-have, though!
