Mi è piaciuto Second visit to the lodge at Bridge House Campsite, after being here 3 years ago, and it didn’t disappoint. Comfy bed, (supply your own bedding and towels), the weather was hot and sunny for our break. We used the lodge as a base to explore, just me, my wife and our black Labrador. Spent a day in Grassington, the village where they filmed All Creatures Great and Small, having the fictitious name of Darrowby. This is only a 15 minute drive from the lodge and well worth a visit. Lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes and other shops to view. That evening we shared one of Cecilia’s wonderful home made on the premises pizzas, which was as good as the last one I had on my first visit. After a great night sleep and refreshing shower in the attached en-suite the following morning we took the dog for a walk around the fields and river, wonderful scenery surrounds the lodge, before heading off to Masham about 45 minutes away to the steam rally there. Overall a truly beautiful rustic place to stay for a relaxing stay. Just be aware of the many motorcycles out enjoying the winding roads around the area, and the suicidal pheasants that seem to be on every corner of the roads. Never seen so many dead on the road that have been hit by cars or bikes enjoying the fantastic roads(and not too many potholes). Overall I can’t praise this accommodation enough, but accept it for what it is, don’t expect luxury 5 star accommodation. Give it a try, pound for pound it’s amazing value.

Non mi è piaciuto It’s not a dislike it’s just a warning that if you take a dog like we did ensure it’s under control when you open the front door, as this leads directly onto the road outside where vehicles do pass close, but never an issue for us. Some people have said they couldn’t, get the internet, granted there’s no Wi-Fi but my phone on O2 still managed to get a signal to allow me to get onto the internet.

Mi è piaciuto Decided to have a few days alone walking with my daughters dog while she went on holiday and what a cracking find the little stone lodge at Bridge House Campsite turned out to be. If you want a clean,comfortable room with peace and quiet look no further, if you want the Ritz look for something else, Yes there's no Wi-Fi but a quick hot-spot from my laptop to my i-phone soon sorted that, Sampled the on-site pizza and what a delight it was, highly recommended and cooked by the charming host Cecilia. The wood burning stove made the cool evenings very comfortable, There is a small fridge, but it is large enough to hold the essentials like milk, butter & beer. There is also a kettle & toaster, so enough to keep you fed & watered if you prepare. There is also a lovely en-suite consisting of a roomy shower, toilet and hand basin with hot water. Cecilia had supplied 3 toilet rolls, hand soap, shower soap and a large net bag of firewood/fire lighters and matches enough for a couple of nights lighting the wood burner. She will also sell you more wood if you run out. It made cooking jacket potatoes in the evening a piece of cake. Just wrapped baking potatoes in tin foil placed in fire away from flames and in an hour had the most amazing jacket potatoes, smothered in butter & grated cheese that i had brought with me. It makes an ideal base for walkers, cyclists & motorcyclists as the walks and scenery are awesome. As a motorcyclist myself the roads around the area are some of the best i have come across & i have ridden all over Europe, and Bridge House makes the ideal base, I cannot recommend it enough. To sum up Bridge House is fantastic value, clean, comfortable, rustic & peaceful. It is more an adult base as it only sleeps two and keeping a child occupied and entertained 24/7 could be hard work, plus the front door opens directly onto the road so caution is required. Give it a bash you wont be disappointed.

Non mi è piaciuto Nothing personally to dislike. Cannot comment on the camp site itself as this doesn't open until next month but it looks fine surrounded by stunning scenery.
