As a single parent, new to camping. Was very impressed with Billing. Very friendly staff. Easy check in. Felt very safe as gated entrance. Something for everyone whether you wanted a peaceful retreat or action packed activities for the kids! Clean tidy. Plenty of loos and hot showers available. Lots of food outlets and shop for essentials.

Very busy on arrival, told area to camp but couldn't find electric point in area I was supposed to camp due to campsite being so busy and groups camped around electic points and no room to pitch tent, couldnt find anyone to help. Ended up camping in another area as only place I could find. Toilets and showers although there was someone outside with cleaning products were very grim and dirty with walls smeared. The venue itself was fantastic with plenty to keep occupied. Waterpark and boats were great. Swimming fully booked and was only able to go 1 day and was chaotic in changing area with one lot out and next lot in there was no space to change or shower. No information given on daily activities being held and couldn't find any notice boards of where to find activities. Amphitheatre area was great with live music and shows. Great for a couple of days but more organisisation and information needed.

Grass electric pitches could be marked clearly. Entertainment app only available on Apple should be available on android for other users.

Free choice of where to pitch on the non EHU field & proximity to water.

Shower & toilet blocks could be cleaner and soap dispensers were often empty.
Far too expensive to use your own paddleboards on the lake.

Lots to do

1 doorman ruined everything for our group refused entry for our entire party for no reason.

He was a discrace to the company and should be removed from his positon

Overall site was very good.
Clean/tidy shower wash area, toilets were regularly cleaned. Although definitely not the toilets that were advertised. Could defo do with updating.
Site has everything you need for a lovely stay.

Not so much dislike but constructive criticism.
Signage around the site is extremely poor, we had no idea where our pitch was & only found it through driving round and asking random people, the security on the gate just waved us in & told us to cross the blue bridge.
We never officially checked in until I questioned why we weren’t given any paperwork around 18:30 after arriving at 15:00. We found a security guard and asked where reception was & he was extremely helpful in getting our wristbands.
Swimming:
The “sign in” at reception for swimming is not clear & obvious in fact it doesn’t make sense where it is based. The changing room itself is extremely small & not fit for busy periods where swimming session overlap each other, there is no room for everyone in the changing rooms. When you’re in a slippery and busy area it is not safe!
Again signs for lockers are very much needed, 99% of swimming centres in this country are either £1 lockers or shopping tokens & refundable, I had to leave my things in an open locker because I didn’t have anything other than a £1 coin & with only a 45 min session I didn’t want to waste time trying to get change from god only knows where. Considering it has had a £12 million investment it seems they have forgotten to work on the toilets & changing area by the swimming pool. It all really needs updating.
I genuinely mean all of this with no malicious intent & hope it is taken on board to make changes, & we will absolutely return another time.

Really enjoyed every minute of our stay.. weather was perfect 🌞

Pool was warm n nice in 45 minute slots you could only book the day before so gives people chance to book
Free train n lots of free activities pitches for football etc fields parks

Aldi tesco and home bargains along with many other shops around 10mins drive also shop on site

Bit of a walk to the toilet as we were at the furthest point on shelduck 4

Not enough shower blocks do r the amount of people were clean but smelly with the amount people useingvthen

First ever time camping and throughly enjoyed it. I was alittle concerned after reading the reviews. We stayed Friday - Monday check in was easy, staff throughout the complex were friendly and helpful. The site was clean and tidy, the shower and toilets blocks were newish and kept being cleaned by the cleaners. The water park was a big hit for our family and the bike track, there was plenty to do. We would return.

The swimming pool set up was a little manic as you queued to book at the bar area and can only book a day in advance , (maybe each booking could book online for 1 session and then try to book extra once there ?) you only get 45 mins in the pool and the changing rooms are very small so you have new customers getting ready and those that have come out of the pool! We only went for 30 mins to avoid the mad rush ! But the kids still enjoyed the swimming pool
