Moffat Manor Holiday Park

Mi è piaciuto The site looked nice and surrounded with beautiful scenery. The lodges and static caravans all looked well kept and decent sizes. The facilities (showers and toilets) were clean and a good sizes. The bar was nice and relaxed with some arcade games and a pool table. Kids allowed in but not allowed near the bar. Bar itself had a good menus of drinks including cocktails (but missing many ingredients unfortunately). Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a shop on site but we didn’t use it so can’t comment. Easy to find location and perfect for a stop over as it’s just off the motorway. Plenty shops and eating establishments around in nearby Moffat.

Non mi è piaciuto The multiple noisy trains passing by…. The site is right beside a train track. In your welcome pack you are told you may hear the odd train…. We counted 6 passing by within the hour on a Monday evening. When the site is quiet they rip through like a loud rumbling noise. Camp pitches are on quite a slope in area “A1” quite a steep downward hill so we moved back a bit where it was a little more flat, not sure if you would be able to if more tents were pitched. Lots of rabbit holes also, unavoidable not to pitch your tent over them.
Lots of rubbish around, bins full and over spilling therefore seagulls pulling rubbish over the place.

Non mi è piaciuto Yes. Very close to camping (outside) was music concert for two days . Very very laud Friday from 2pm to 11pm, Saturday to 10pm. I couldn't rest and sleep.
I come back tired and unhappy.

Non mi è piaciuto Very few flat spaces to pitch. The signs for the pitch numbers need making more clearly. The trains going passed very noisy.

Non mi è piaciuto Washing up area could do with some maintenance the redundant building in that area should be utilised or removed

Mi è piaciuto The scenery is beautiful and the site is situated in a good place for access to Moffat town and local walks.

The lake on site is lovely with lots of wildlife. My daughter loved seeing all of the rabbits and on a clear night the stars are stunning!

There is a small play area on site.

Non mi è piaciuto The site is very noisy from the nearby motorway and also the trains that run until the early hours.

The pitches are on uneven ground so its really not ideal for tents, especially with the added complications of bunny burrows.

Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. During a 3 night stay the wash area was not cleaned at all. There is also only 1 sink for all campers.

Toilets were frequently muddy and without toilet paper, or replenished with the wrong type of paper resulting in it falling out of dispensers onto the wet floor.

The information supplied on pitchup (PU) is incorrect for several things...

Quiet time according to PU information is 9pm - 9am however it is actually quiet time from 11pm and unfortunately there is no one monitoring this. Not great for those who want an earlier night, especially when some guests go beyond this time. Advise from reception was to call emergency number after 11pm.

PU advise no BBQs are allowed however they are as long as they are raised.

The on site shop is very very basic.

Mi è piaciuto altho the park was in good mantained conditon pitching a caravan on a slop is not the best place as there was flat ground but appers not to be used and toilet axcess is very poor and for people with disabelity problems there was no disabled shower no ramp or steps to axcess toilet and shower olso very rough path to enter toilet block i understand toilet block may be tempery but very little concederation to disabled axcess bar meals slection very poor dose not tack a lot of effort to cook a few simple meals could be a realy good site if management cared to invest in overall site rether then pushing chalet owenership renevate toilet block ear mark flat ground for towing caravans and sort out disabled axcess to toilet block and a cook to offer a decent slection of meals after all people on hollydays arent realy wanting to cook meals just sit in a nice eatery and injoy a meal .would happley use again if improvements were implemented .

Mi è piaciuto The walks were great. It was just off the A74. Lots of wildlife.

Non mi è piaciuto The showers and toilets in a hut, and the showers were small.
Most of the pitches were on a hill.
