Campeggio ben tenuto e pulitissimo, apprezzato per lo staff cordiale e disponibile, molti descritti come ottimi ospiti. Splendide viste sul Dartmoor, atmosfera pacifica e ottimi servizi, inclusi bagni impeccabili e un negozio. Comodo per esplorare la Gola di Lydford, piste ciclabili e pub locali. Pochi punti minori su Wi-Fi e rumore occasionale.

Non mi è piaciuto On our first evening onsite, groups of campers were playing loud drum and bass music next to us - reception was shut and we only had an ‘emergency’ number which we didn’t think was appropriate to contact. We couldn’t relax and decided to move to a free spot in a different field, we notified the wardens who were very understanding. We decided to stay in the new service spot to avoid more loud music and annoyance. We were happy to pay to stay at the new spot (even though the site was pretty empty and the spot hadn’t been booked by anyone) however the owners decided to also charge us for moving on the first night. We didn’t think this was fair, as the other campers shouldn’t have been making excessive noise in the first place (apparently there are ‘quiet times’, but they clearly aren’t enforced!!).
If you want peace and quiet, get a service pitch. I don’t think the owners care about what happens in the grass field in terms of excessive noise, as in their words ‘the service pitches make more money’!!

Mi è piaciuto Lovely campsite. Wide pitches, don't feel like you're on top of each other. Very quiet. Very convenient for walking to the Gorge, only a 15 minute walk through Lydford town. Staff lovely, extremely smiley and helpful

Mi è piaciuto What a fabulous site. The views of the toes on Dartmoor, picture postcard from the top field. The grounds are well kept with well cut lawns & wild grass meadows. The facilities were all kept so clean. Louise and her husband the wardens were so friendly. Great little shop.The site is close to cycle routes & lydford gorge. The castle inn nearby does great food.

Mi è piaciuto Most importantly the site staff are outstanding, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great communication and nothing seems to be too much trouble. Site has a really good mix of serviced pitches in addition to open grass camping areas with fantastic views of Dartmoor. A lovely balance to suit all. Shop is well stocked and convenient. Facilities clean and well maintained. Well run village pub within walking distance. As a regulars visitor to the area due to family connections this is my go to place to stay, can't praise it too highly.

Dal gestore: This site is renowned for being quiet and peaceful - please read all our very positive reviews.
We happen to be located near to the village playing field which, on this occasion ran a charity event with live music, which, partly due to the wind direction, did cause excessive noise on site, which stopped around 10.30pm. Some of our guests attended and enjoyed the event.
This event was entirely out of our control, and I have to say that such events are very rare. Thankfully, the vast majority of our guests were not put off by a couple of hours of music and enjoyed the tranquility of the site for the rest of their stay.
I'm sorry that the client felt that this event ruined her stay; I did try to call her after she had left site, but she did not return my call.

Mi è piaciuto What a fabulous camp site. An absolute gem. Perfect location nestled under the flanks of Dartmoor with spectacular views. Lovely.
Beautifully managed and maintained site, immaculate. All the facilities you will need, well looked after and surgically clean. There is a great little shop on site selling all the essentials which is so handy.
Well located for touring the area with two pubs within walking distance. The Castle is literally around the corner and is excellent.
We stayed on a cycle tour and arrived in the late evening after a hard day cycling through rain and over some tough hills. When we arrived we were greeeted like conquering heroes, for a moment I thought we might have won the Tour de France. But that is Rog and Ange the site owners! And they are truly wonderful hosts, just such nice people - they couldnt do enough for us. Thank you Roger and Angie!
