This stunning Bollihope Chalet is the property of Diane Youdale, and sits on the Weardale Way 2 miles from the village of Frosterley, in the unspoiled North Pennines; a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
For a peaceful unique getaway for relaxation, walks and reflection this one bedroom, plus sofa fold-out to sleep 2, contemporary chalet holds the key to a rejuvenating get away.
The chalet has an open plan kitchen, living room and dining area plus a wet-room styled bathroom, and one double bedroom with panoramic views. Also included is a full length balcony and parking for two cars.
The chalet is at the end of an unmade road through the Low Bollihope Farm and Fineburn Caravan site which sits at the bottom of a hill on the Weardale Way next to Bollihope Burn. A crystal clear rock bottomed stream lovely for dipping in, in the sun. Nearby stunning walks for picnics and exploration of Weardale's fascinating history and heritage is a must.
A Washing machine is available as part of on-site facilities. The nearest village is 3 miles and provides fabulous Cafe's, Pubs, Shops and Restaurants for supplies and gifts/art in villages along the A689 Wolsingham and capital of the Dales, Stanhope.

After passing through Hill End from Frosterley, take the next left down to Low Bollihope Farm and Fineburn Caravan Park. You can either park where the two farmhouses are (it’s a minute’s walk to the chalet from here) or continue onto an unmade road for another 100 yards. This is steep and requires you to point your car up towards two other chalets then reverse slowly down to your chalet, keeping the dry stone wall on the right and using the edge of the scrub land to the left. Parking for two cars if needed.

Along its 77-mile length, the Weardale Way roughly follows the course of the River Wear, taking in woods, farmland, moors and villages as it meanders. To make it a bit more manageable it’s been divided into ten smaller sections, all of which make for a lovely day’s rural ramble.
If you want to get max value out of your walking shoes, there are plenty more places to give them a workout nearby. 2000-hectare Hamsterley Forest is around 20 minutes away by car, with lots of trails for walking, cycling and horse riding and themed routes for kids. Spectacular High Force waterfall is about a half-hour drive away, and there are some fab seaside walks to be had along the Durham Heritage Coast 40 minutes away.
Much of Durham, half an hour away by car, has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – get your history fix taking in the city’s cathedral, castle and university buildings, or drive a little further to the Georgian and Victorian-themed open-air museum in Beamish.
