Kedvelték Great location and the onsite (although not cheap) EV charging points a bonus. Large toilet and shower block

Nem kedvelték The Elson point ended up getting either blocked or defo not being used correctly, so was very disgusting to use after a busy full site weekend. The toilets were not very clean or tidy for very long either. As the grass is mowed and left on the ground there was a lot of mess on the floor from the grass picked up or ‘dumped’ by other site users. The other odd bit is that the hand washing area in the ladies you had in a seperated room with door access, not very hygenic in my view and probs would benefit with a hand sanitiser into and out of that area to prevent picking up bugs.

Kedvelték The site is very well set out and pitches a great size. We had a fully serviced pitch at an execellent price (one of our cheapest stops). There was everything you needed including a farm shop and excellent restaurant (recommend the Sunday lunch). There was a big soft play and kids play area so a good spot if you need to keep kids occupied. The bus stop is on site, so very handy and no need to cross a busy road. Plenty of showers and loo’s, water pressure did drop if more than one in use though.

Nem kedvelték No temp control in the showers which meant it was either extremely hot, or very cold.

Kedvelték When we went in the bar, Martin was brilliant. He was very welcoming and helped us out food wise (as the kitchen was closed). We also found he’d spent some time in our home town of Nottingham, so got on like a house on fire. Pitch was a great size and away from the main road (so had a very peaceful sleep).

Nem kedvelték The disappointment of the kitchen being closed (despite the confirmation that it was open). Granted the food situation was soon rectified and we had a fab stay. The shower and toilet block could do with a bit of TLC, so more of a backpackers feel, other than that no real negatives to speak of.

Kedvelték Location is great for visiting my sister in Maenchlochog, really peaceful and scenic views of the Preseli hills. Great onsite bar, which currently open Fridays and Saturdays, lovely friendly people too. Easily walkable to the Highest licensed pub in Pembrokeshire, aprox 5min (no pavement), which is rustic Really accommodating as well, as the first pitch we had was a bit too sloped for our levelers to handle, so moved us to a flatter pitch. Roads coming in can be very tight in places esp when encountering farm traffic

Nem kedvelték The phone and tv reception was a little sketchy (as we like a bit of TV in the late evening) and the water pressure in the showers dipped to a trickle (I’m assuming due to the toilets or laundry being used). But did not impact our stay nor our return (second visit).

Kedvelték Nice location, great hard pitch for winter with easy access to hook up. 15/20 min walk to Pickering centre. Unable to score facilities as closed until Feb/March

Nem kedvelték A bit pricey esp as the toilets & shower block closed. We were also near a very loud generator as otherwise it was a very peaceful site. Not much lighting, one big light near chemical disposal, so a must for a torch. You’ll also need this from the pitch to the main lighting on the lane as little street lights around.

Kezelői megjegyzés: Thank you Deborah for your review. I am glad you enjoyed the location of our site and easy walk in to Pickering town centre and all the local attractions. I am sorry that you were disturbed by the noise of a generator which we do not allow on site. I wish you had let me know at the time so that I could have stopped this from being used and being a problem. Regards Sandra

Kedvelték Charlie Bassets were fab, loved the food the location and the pitch. Staff were very friendly too and couldn’t do enough for us! Clean facilities pus kept nice and warm. Accommodated a pitch closer to the pub due to disability of my partner.

Nem kedvelték The only negative we had was the lack of lighting on the pitch site. Was difficult to set up in the dark (thankfully we bought body and head torches).

Kezelői megjegyzés: Hi Deb, Brill to know that we give you a GOOD experience here at Charlies Camp Site Thankyou for giving a great description of your Time spent with us , It really makes our efforts worth while to have people such as your selves to tell us this . The Comment you make about the Slight Lack of Lighting is a Good Point and i think we may look at putting some low light timed motion lights to each pitch as Finances permit. Thanks for you input. SEE YOU AGAIN Best Regards Team Charlies

Kedvelték What a great site with hook up. Stayed in the disabled bay with my partner and dog. Clean toilets/showers and washing up facilities. Even has a washing machine!! Pub food was excellent (dog friendly too) and Ralph, the on-site warden, very accommodating and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

Nem kedvelték Only thing was the light in the disabled toilets felt you were at a disco, flicking on and off constantly, plus did mention this to Ralph. Other than that no complaints from us.
