Kedvelték The park area is spacious with good play equipment for kids, and the forest walks are a nice touch. All hardstanding pitches come with a picnic bench. There's a small Sainsbury's a few minutes' drive away, and the site is close to the main road for easy access. The entertainment schedule was well put together with plenty on offer, and the bar had a good beer selection. The Elsan point itself was well done, with a sink alongside it to wash your hands afterwards. This isn't a bad site overall — just not what suited us. If you're not put off by the points below, it's worth a look.

Nem kedvelték Shop — Advertised as "well stocked," but this meant camping equipment and a wall of pot noodles and long-life cakes rather than fresh food, bread, milk, eggs etc. that similar sites' shops carry. Opening hours were also inconsistent across sources — website says 18:30, on-site signage says 17:00, reception actually closed at 17:30. Pitches & Access — Barrier entry with cars parked haphazardly around the site, making access tight (twin-axle vans would likely struggle). Many pitches are used as seasonal/long-stay, and allocations were small enough that you're effectively sharing space with your neighbour. Our pitch was tarmac (caravan) + gravel (presumably awning) + a small grass strip — but the seasonal pitch next door parked vehicles on and in front of "our" grass area, making it unusable. Water/electric hookup was on a makeshift wooden board between pitches with a hosepipe rather than proper standard pipework. The grey waste point was an open, uncovered hole in the ground — the same style used for the static caravans' waste, large enough to suggest it likely also takes black waste — with a persistent bad smell and enough debris in it that emptying a waste master into it caused overflow onto the pitch. It was also positioned on the door side of our pitch, making it awkward to reach without long pipework. Separately, pitches 34 and 35 looked more like laybys or passing spaces than proper pitches, with no allocated parking — the car ended up parked partly across the path leading to the Elsan point. "Enclosed" Dog Walking Field — Marked on the map as enclosed, but it's really a hilly, uncampable area with a fence loosely put around it. One of the two gates was missing, and the far boundary was just brambles/bushes rather than fencing — easy for a smaller or more energetic dog (ours is a collie) to get through. The lack of a proper barrier also meant foxes came and went freely, leaving several deposits our dog found before we did. Play Park — Good facilities, but sited on open grass near the river with no matting or surfacing — the ground under the swings and slide became muddy pools whenever it rained. Showers & Toilets — Generally clean but not thorough — an empty beer can sat on a windowsill in the gents for several days, and there was visible grime in the ladies'. Showers are push-button only with no temperature control, and no dry area for clothes/shoes/towels. Worth noting: the cleaning log board on display showed the last recorded check was the 29th — we left on the 31st, so it hadn't been updated since. I'll also just mention that the same handwriting appeared in both the "checked by" and "supervisor check" columns. Country Club / Bar / Restaurant — Seating is long canteen-style rows with minimal separation between tables — not somewhere you can eat without feeling like you're sitting with strangers, and awkward to navigate with a pushchair. We visited during the site's 20th anniversary bank holiday event, which may have added to the noise and some colourful language from nearby outdoor tables — but even allowing for that, it didn't feel like an environment we'd want our younger children in (older kids/teens, fine). Evening Entertainment — Runs late and loud — if you've young children trying to sleep, expect a long night, especially on pitches closer to the venue. Staff — Friendly enough but low on enthusiasm. I hadn't asked about food at all — just ordering drinks at the bar — when I was told "menus are on the bar" completely unprompted, delivered in a flat, almost rehearsed tone, like it was a line they'd been told to say rather than something offered naturally. A "if you fancy food, menus are just there" would have landed completely differently — this felt more like a box being ticked than a genuine offer.

Kedvelték This was our third trip to Whitemead, and as always, it was superb. I think, whilst the site is lovely and has great facilities, what truly makes Whitemead stand out is the staff who run the venues and entertainment. A special shout-out to Sarah who, as always was a delight and made the evenings such fun. The facilities on site, showers, toilets etc were always clean - and the water pressure remains cracking for the on-site showers. The one downside is the limited number of showers available, but there is a second block which is also available, which people tend to forget about. The wifi seems to have been upgraded too - it was always good - but it's far quicker now than it was before. We can't wait for our next visit!

Kedvelték Our visit to this site was part of a stream of firsts for us - it was our first time abroad in our tourer, so the first French touring site we'd been to and what an excellent choice we made by booking this site. We chose this site due to its proximity to the Channel Tunnel - and from the looks of it, this is often used as a stopover for others using the tunnel or ferry. Upon arrival, I headed to the reception to check in. I'd practised enough French to get by, however, it wasn't necessary as the reception staff spoke English very well, much better than what would have been my attempt at French. I was given a map, told some information about the site, and told where to find my pitch. The site itself is beautiful, and the pitches are an excellent size - ours was quite well covered by some trees and bushes, providing a natural shaded area, which was ideal given the unexpected heatwave. The pitches seem to all slope down slightly - this was fine as our levelling ramp easily compensated for this. I have seen some reviews saying the pitches were level and others saying very unlevel - I think this is somewhat expected with the grass pitches - grass isn't always an even surface, but I was on the whole pleased with the pitch. It's worth noting that many caravans, especially those from mainland Europe (French, Dutch, etc.), would instead of having the rear of the caravan at the back of the pitch, would instead have the caravan sideways on the pitch - I'm assuming this was for ease of levelling their caravans - but the size of the pitch was ideal to allow this to happen. The site has a park, 2 swimming pools (though only one was open during our stay), tennis courts, outdoor activity equipment and most importantly, a superb little restaurant/bar terrace area which also has ping pong tables (more on the bar later). The pool was well kept, clean and a welcome refresh during the heatwave. It's unguarded, so bear that in mind when you plan visits. The site has plentiful amounts of toilets, showers, and basins, including lots of washing-up basins. These facilities were always very clean. I encountered some of the cleaners working in the morning, and they were exceptionally thorough! There are plenty of bins for rubbish and recycling too. The showers had a variable temperature control, although they were push-button operated and had a decent amount of pressure (though my Daughter noted the more people using the shower at once, the lower the pressure got). The site also has washing machines and dryers, which are in great condition and very clean - they are token-operated. The tokens cost €5 each, available from reception. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but from the food we did see and the pleasant reactions from those who did eat there, I think it's fair to say the food is of a high quality. They also have a takeaway service, which, in hindsight, we'd have taken advantage of - we certainly will next time we visit. The bar/restaurant staff were superb - very quick and efficient, and very friendly - they even happily obliged when I asked to try to handle my order using my awful French, but they speak English for you to get by without issue if you don't know any French. The beer was cold, and it was well kept - the nicest "pint" (330ml) of Leffe Blonde and Stella Artois we've had in a while and a good selection of soft drinks for the kids, including Fanta, Coca Cola, and Orangina (the kids loved this). Nearby, there is a Carrefour supermarket, well stocked, with nice staff - not all of them speak English, but they were all helpful and friendly too. A 24/7 fuel station can also be found at the supermarket, but it's not suitable to be used whilst towing. There is also a bakery nearby, which we didn't find the time to visit, but we did see long queues from the door!

The washing machine and tumble dryer are token-operated - these are bought from reception - if reception is closed, then I'm pretty sure you cannot get tokens - I'd have liked to see some more signage about tokens, how to buy and when you could buy them, we got caught short without realising we could not just use Euros. We didn't realise the second pool would be closed during out stay - it was spring half term in the UK, so we figured all the facilities would be available - only a minor niggle, as it wasn't so busy that the smaller pool wasn't adequate - but on the hottere days when it did get busier, it would have been nice to have a choice of another swimming pool to do some proper swimming - the pool actually opened a day before we left which I think is when the high season officially started. Like I said, not dislikes, rather FYI for other potential guests.

Kedvelték We booked this as a last minute getaway over half term. On arrival to the site, we were greeted by a sign to ring the warden to gain entry - we did so and met her at reception, a lovely lady and very helpful. The site was very quiet, but given it's remote with very little to do in the immediate area, this was not a surprise. I get the distinct impression that this site is commonly used as a stop off point for people on longer journeys or people working near by. It's close to the motorway, so an ideal stop off point, albeit with some mildly tricky lanes to traverse if you are towing. The toilet, shower and dish wash facility were spotlessly clean with good pressure in the shower and nice and warm too. Well stocked with toilet paper, and nice to see hand towels as well as the hand driers. The showers were very spacious too, with hooks to hand stuff so it didn't get wet. There is a pub next to the site - as I understand it's ran by someone unrelated to the caravan site - but the pub was nice to have - the drink selection is small - but the food here was nice, again super handy if you are stopping over for a night. We didn't use them, but there were a few static caravans on site, which looked to be available to rent for some nights - externally they were clean and very well maintained - so worth noting for anyone considering this accomodation. The site was quite well lit at night, with some lighting around the site, so it wasn't pitch black, despite being a remote area. Decent mobile signal, and clear access to the skies to connect Starlink too.

Nem kedvelték We didn't find this problematic - but the site is close to the motorway, and a train track, so there was some light noise from those - it wasn't by any means disruptive but worth nothing. There appeared to be no baby change facilities in the mens toilet/shower rooms which was a little disappointing - but as I mentioned above, the facilities were spotless, so I had no issue popping my travel baby changing mat on the floor and changing my son there. The showers are a single button push to turn it on, with no temperature control - they last about 30 seconds before needing to push it again - we found the temperature a little problematic, as it was really quite hot - and my young son would have found it too hot and if you prefer a cooler shower, you'd certainly find this too hot, that being said, I imagine most people would love the warmth of these showers.

Kedvelték After we booked, I looked the site up on Facebook and I’d interacted with the owners and been invited to a cider tasting session they were hosting, so we knew we were in for a warm welcome! We arrived at the site and as soon as I got out of the car to visit reception, Lisa was waiting to greet me, she ran me through the basics and invited me to choose a pitch of my liking, so we chose one at the top of the site close to the amenities. As we were parking the caravan, we met Woody who was tending to the flower beds, he helped guide me whilst reversing and once we were done, told me a little more about the farm and their plans for it. We started getting everything setup, and after a brief panic of thinking I’d forgotten all the cutlery, we popped in for a further chat with Lisa where she gave us some fresh eggs from the resident chickens, told us about the local shops, including Asda and took the time to meet our dog Trixie. I headed to Asda in Wellington to purchase some other bits we’d forgotten whilst the rest of the family got settled in. On returning to the site we had a look at the facilities which were all immaculate and refurbished to a very high standard, my daughters then went and used the showers and commented on how fantastic they were. The site features washing up area, toilets and showers, with handy boxes containing some essentially if you’ve forgotten anything (toothbrush, soap etc) and a washing machine in the laundry room. WiFi is available on site with good signal and speed, provided free of charge and the gate is locked at night for safety, but should you need to venture out, the code is available to you on request. On our second day, we saw Woody in the morning, tending to the grounds and chatting with the guests, he gave us some info on the local area and some places we might like to visit. We spent most of the day off site exploring before returning to the cider tasting session that Lisa and Woody had organised with a local cider producer. It had a nice selection of meats and cheeses and we sampled from their range of ciders which were delicious and some Easter eggs for the kids too. We chatted and laughed with Lisa, Woody and the other guests and had a lovely evening. All in all, the atmosphere and quality of site makes this by far our most favourite site. Lisa and Woody care for each guest and want to make sure they enjoy their stay. My children certainly enjoyed spending time with them and meeting (and holding) the baby chickens too! We liked this site so much that we were supposed to leave yesterday, but we’re still here today after extending our stay. We plan to make regular appearances here (after carefully consulting my children’s busy social calendars). This site will be perfect for you if you’re looking for a homely, tranquil relaxing holiday, with some nice local attractions. Even if you’re popping in for a single night or a whole week, you’ll not want to leave afterwards! Lisa and Woody are never far away and are always making sure you’re happy and that the facilities are immaculate.

Kedvelték We stumbled across this site when looking for a last minute getaway during half term and what a treat it was. We arrived and got booked in by a very pleasant lady who gave us all the required information and gave us a map and directions to our assigned pitch. There are pitching guidelines given to you as to how you should pitch, so rather than reverse the tourer in, we unhitched and pushed it in so we could make sure the positioning was more precise than my hit and miss reverse skills. The pitch was level and we didn't have to make any adjustments across the caravan. The site seemed busy with lots of new arrivals, but all the guests I spoke to were friendly. It appeared that all the families were pitched together, with couples without children being pitched a little further away. The restaurant and bar served a good selection of food and drinks which allowed us all to find something to eat, albeit the pints of Staropramen were £5.80 and to feed a family of 6 with a drink each was roughly £90, it felt a little pricey, but not uncommon for a venue like this. The food was however, tasty, served quick and filling. The placement of the facilities seemed suitable so that none of the pitches were too far from a water point or the shower/toilet facilities. There was a washing up station and disabled/baby change facilities close to the water point we used which were tidy (and warm) as they appeared to be inside a glamping-type pod. There were two parks, one for younger children and another for older children, a swimming pool which was warm and a good size. The pool was quiet when we visited, but we were midweek after the English half term had finished, so we got lucky! Additionally, there was a gym and onsite activities like archery, slime making, mini golf etc, though we didn't partake in these this time. There is a showbar with daily entertainment, kids disco, kids bingo and adult bingo with live acts. This was all very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, the live singer was superb! An onsite shop, again, pricey, but it contained all the essentials, some camping gear, and fresh local meats which were extremely tasty! Some of the thickest bacon I've ever seen was more like gammon! The shower block was clean, warm and the showers themselves had a temperature control and no push buttons, you could turn it on and have a really good soak. There were plenty of hooks to hang up your clothes and a bench too. There was free wifi on the site, which was adequate, my son managed to play Roblox for a while in the evening, the speeds did vary a bit. The mobile signal, however, on Vodafone and O2 networks was great most of the time. For the cost of the pitch, and the available entertainment, this was a very enjoyable trip. We did try to extend our stay, but they were fully booked for the weekend ahead, so were unable too, but we look forward to returning again.

Nem kedvelték On arrival, I was a little confused as to where to park to book in, initially a little hut looked to be the place, but this seemed to be a storage cupboard, and then ended up going past the booking office and parking outside the showers and running back. Not a big issue, but the signage could be improved here. The Elsan point was a hole in the ground, which felt a little difficult to coordinate without making a bit of a mess. I'd have preferred something not at ground level, but there was a hose pipe to clean up somewhat. The shower block isn't immediately obvious because the signage makes it appear to be just a toilet block. In the pool changing village, the family changing cubicles didn't all have a baby change point in them, which made it a little tricky to change our son, additionally, I didn't notice anything on the leaflets to indicate a pound to use the lockers, albeit this is a common thing across pool changing rooms, it would be good to see it in the information.

Kedvelték The site was very nice, clean and had friendly staff who booked us in on arrival. The site has a keycode gate for access and exit, which prohibits vehicles from driving on/off the site after 22:30 and before 07:00 - which made the site feel safer. The hardstanding pitches are quite level, most of the motorhomes and campervans were parked without attempting to level. There was enough space for me to reverse the tourer onto the pitch with relative ease. You will need a long cable, 25 metres most likely, to ensure you can reach the EHU points. There were no allocated pitches, just drive around until you found one you liked. As we visited in the off-season, the lower half of the site was closed, including the toilet and shower blocks down there, but this meant deer would venture on site, which was a nice treat for the children to see. There isn't much else to do here on site, no park or anything, but plenty of green space to explore and have a run around in. The shower and toilet blocks were very clean, warm and the water temperature and pressure were great. The showers are push button showers, which is quite common, but they stayed on long enough to not have to be pushing them over and over to keep the water on. There was a fresh water and gray waste point very close to our pitch, and I believe they were dotted quite frequently around the site. No pipe attached to the taps, so ideally bring your own otherwise, you will get water everywhere. The Elsan point is next to the toilet/shower blocks and is clean and tidy. Also available was a laundry and dishwashing area, we did not use it, but it was clean and tidy. I could imagine this getting busy during the on-season. Overall, despite there being a fair few families and dogs, the site was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed our stay.

The location is remote, so there is little phone signal, and the free WiFi is provided by Starlink so very temperamental, probably related to the poor weather, but I don't think you'd be able to do much, it's certainly no good for streaming music or TV or working remotely. If you have a requirement to be able to access the internet without issue for work or any other reason, you will find it difficult here. Both Vodafone and O2 network signal coverage was poor. Not an issue for us, as we had plenty to do

Kedvelték Superb site, with well maintained facilities. We received a lovely welcome from Janine, who was very friendly and provided us all the information we needed. All the pitches were in great condition, with water points nearby. They were also pretty level, so I’m sure campers and motor homes could get away with no leveling for short stops. Our pitch neighbor certainly didn’t level their vehicle. Everyone on the site was friendly and the pitches were spacious with the green area for tents and tourers without EHU. The shower and toilet facilities were well maintained, clean and had great water pressure when showering. These are accessible with a keycard. There are both grey and black waste disposal points and a great little washing room too, with facilities for cleaning clothing. Next to the site is a pub which serves a great selection of drinks, lovely food and has a decent sized beer garden. I’m not sure if they are the same business, I don’t think they are, but they complement one another perfectly. The site is dark at night making it perfect for stargazing, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The other guests were quiet and it was very peaceful. Overall was a really peaceful visit, wonderfully placed for visits to local spots such as the waterfalls and Dan Yr Ogof caves. I’d definitely make this my regular stop for visiting the Brecon Beacons, so look forward to returning. Diolch!

Kedvelték I have stayed at many campsites in my time, but this was the first time I'd taken a touring caravan to one. As this was my first time taking a tourer I emailed the owner a couple of days before to ask for some further information on the site, I had an extremely quick reply, which was unexpected given I emailed quite late at night! Whilst the owner is not based on site, they hung around to greet me on my arrival and helped me with information to get myself setup. He was also very accommodating for the fact this was my first time ever pitching. The campsite itself was absolutely lovely, very clean and tidy in a location which makes it easy to access both Tenby and Saundersfoot. I have read several reviews which noted the "dated" facilities, but any improvements here would purely be aesthetic, and really the facilities were amongst some of the best I have encountered. The showers were large, with very powerful and hot showers, they were also spotless and had a proper temperature control and not one of those push buttons to get it going. The toilets much like the showers were very clean, and well stocked with toilet roll, which was decent stuff, not the really thin stuff that disintegrates in your hands. There were hooks to hang clothes and plenty of electric razor power points. I cannot stress enough how clean this place was, it was immaculate! The owner was on site frequently making sure everything was clean and well stocked. There are plenty of communal sinks for cleaning, and a washer dryer facility for clothes cleaning too. In addition to this, a very large communal fridge and separate freezer for the guests was available. Also, available on site were generous recycling facilities, which again, were emptied regularly. Grey and Black waste disposal points were also available near the shower block. The pitches were a very good size, with picnic benches dotted around to use, in fact the couple pitched next to us were having their dinner on the bench by their pitch, and they were also lovely and gave us a warm welcome. We booked a hardstanding pitch with EHU, and whilst the pitches were not level, it did not take much to get the caravan level, even for an amateur like me! The site was nice and quiet, and all the other guests I spoke to were very friendly. The main area with the toilets and showers is lit up at night, but most of the site is quite dark, so a torch is recommended if you want to venture to the on-site toilets after dark, but this was noted in the site description, so it wasn't a surprise. There is a small play area and sandpit, which sadly due to the weather, we were not able to utilise, but it looked very nice, and I have no doubt, will include more equipment as time goes on. All in all, we loved our time here, and will definitely be booking to come again. It's very clear that the owners take pride in their campsite, and they are clearly investing time and money in making improvements based on the feedback of their guests, and their prices don't break the bank either, making it an affordable location for a family holiday!
