Higher Moor Farm Campsite

Kedvelték I got caught in traffic so called to say I would be there late. Nothing was any trouble and the friendly chap in reception was very reassuring.
The campsite has great facilities and level gravel pitches. Plenty of showers, toilets and washing up areas which were spotless at all times of the day.
It was a lovely surprise to see that dog poo bags were provided as well as a specific bin for their disposal.
We both greatly appreciated the Indian take-away van which was onsite on the Saturday evening as we arrived back earlier than expected and hadn’t bought anything to cook. It was also my husband’s birthday weekend so an extra special treat!

Nem kedvelték I was sad to see the disabled toilet/shower needed a key from the office which wasn’t convenient at 3am.
Perhaps the lock could be changed to the Radar key system as most disabled people have these keys.

Kedvelték Great little camp site with lovely showers and park for kids my 5 year old didn’t want to leave .
Would highly recommend and we will return .
Great staff really really friendly .

Supply but never the less it hasn’t put us off.

Kedvelték Thank you to the management & service guys, nothing too much trouble. The site is immaculate, short grass, more than sufficient toilets, showers and all the other requirements for motorhome stays in this well laid out and mostly flat site. I give it five stars. The only thing that needs emphasising is that the site is isolated & over a mile walk to get a bus to Weymouth. This is offset, as it is possible to drive into town (10 mins from site )and park in the huge Jubilee car park (fees) in the centre of town, where there are six dedicated motorhome bays. We will be returning!

Kedvelték Liked reception, felt like welcome.
Toilets, dishwash and showers very good.
Activities like Mexican night and Bank Holiday party make the extra.

Kedvelték The staff were so personal, especially the young lad in the shop working, what a credit to his parents he is.
The toilets and showers were very tidy
The small touches such as the washing up bowls, sponges, washing liquid
The shop, whilst it was small, it had a great variety
Park was a nice touch but very small
The arcade area for the children was great
Lovely locations

Nem kedvelték Rather packed in, as it’s a very small campsite.
The free roaming children - especially some teenagers who were rather rude, extremely loud, a group of girls screaming around the camp site at 10pm, and during our stay a group were carrying a I can only describe as a boom box that blasted out music past 9pm, which no it isn’t late but some people do have small young children and let’s be honest sponge bob square pants blaring isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Fencing needed to be more secure, as very uneven and unsafe

The litter left in the park - again minimal parent supervision by some, I collected a whole bag of rubbish from 1 trip to the park.
Felt sorry for the people who had paid all that money for pods when the view was mainly tents and free roaming children.

It states no sign written vans, we saw a few
It states no camp fires, we saw many

So many pros, but sadly the cons outweighed us considering a return.

Kedvelték We loved our stay at Higher Moor Campsite! It was our first time camping with our dog, and it was a success.
Extremely well looked after camping, and great customer service. We will definitely return!

Kedvelték A great campsite, with brilliant facilities and a nice little shop. A fantastic place to stay if visiting the Weymouth area. The showers and toilets were very clean.

Nem kedvelték It's not a dislike, but the site is small, so when busy it is quite tight. But, it should not put you off.

Kedvelték The park!, the shop, evening entertainment and pizza oven!
The shower blocks and toilets are clean, well kept, smell nice and the showers are warm and have good pressure!

There is a games room and washing machines and tumble dryers for reasonable money.
There is also free charging station and a freezer.

The park is new for 2025 and kep my two girls under ten occupied for countless hours.

The pitches are well mown, spaced out and the pathways are lit softly at night.

Nem kedvelték The electricity pylon near the top left hand side buzzing, but is not generally near any pitches unless the site is really busy - make sure you request to not be cited under it as the buzzing kept up awake.
