Small and very clean campsite next to a shallow and pretty river and woodland - so plenty of natural shade on river side pitches and paddling. Great pub next to campsite and well equipped spar shop about 2.5 miles up the road . This is one of the quieter areas of the Lakes with stunning scenery , Scafell Pike nearby and lovely coastal railway connections to St Bees , Whitehaven, Grange over Sands

It was first time in a tent and everything was fine.The place is unique. The person in charge of the place was very friendly.

Friendly, helpful site and staff.
The picturesque location with access to the Lakes.
Spacious, fully serviced pitches with a picnic table. Site facilities were nice and clean. Close to pub, a river and a good dog walking route. Free WiFi also available.

Poor phone service/ signal.
Narrow roads en route to the site and tight turning circle for the pitches.
Showers cost 50p to use but we're good and lasted at least 10 minutes per 50p.

Amazing clean, we kept, everything we needed. Andy who was managing the site was so helpful and friendly.

We really loved staying at the old post office campsite. It was a friendly and welcoming site. Was nice to be alongside the river and they were really happy support a pitch move to better enjoy the sun. Fully serviced pitch and the facilities were fine. The site itself is beautiful and great location.

Stayed 3 nights. Fantastic location right on the side of a river so tranquil. Site manager Andy is great. Made us feel at home from the start,top bloke. Site amenities all spotless. The water for the shower so hot. Over the bridge 100 yards away a great little pub food excellent. Dog friendly too. They also do takeaway.
We will certainly ne booking again soon.

Love location
Peace and quiet. River right there to play in so take rock shoes. Staff on hand day or night for advice and just to say hi and to check all is well.
2 showers and the site was full but we never had to wait for use.
Great pub 2 mins walk.
Great base for exploring. WiFi on and off but as long as you follow the ind request not to stream stuff works just fine.
Bbqs allowed. No fire pits.
I forgot the name of the chap who lives and works there but he remembered mine and everyday said hi and gave us great tips on places to go etc.
Most parking was donations.
Close to seascale beach with an ice cream shop.
Visit the steam train and make.a day of it and take swim stuff to swim in river at the other end dalegarth
