Very quiet and romantic place. Soft ground for tent pegs. Clean toilets and shower. Very friendly staff. Easy to find with sat/nav. Can be a bit better Wi-Fi, but when you want switch off a mobile and relax it’s a good place to do that. 2mins walking to pub.

Santon Bridge is lovely little place, pub is a 2 min walk from campsite. Lovely little cafe which is a 5-10 min walk, nicest way is along the river (public footpath)
A lot of these reviews mention the outdated shower blocks, in our opinion they were nice, always clean and nice hot shower - 50p for 10 minutes which was more than adequate
Went to The Bridge Inn for evening meal, was absolutely lovely and very good value for money. Staff really lovely too

Wi-Fi was really poor

Fantastic week away with the family. Great location and we were well looked after. Great for walking, swimming and relaxing with the family.

We had a fantastic time at The Old Post Office. The site location was perfect for us (family ages ranged from 5-70), there was the beautiful River Irt running through which we could paddle and swim in. The site had clean facilities and lovely atmosphere. Andy made us feel very welcome on site and advised us on the local spots for wild swimming, walking and other attractions. Seascale beach, Muncaster Castle and Wastwater Lake are a must! The pub next door was a nice spot on a rainy afternoon with nice big tables for playing cards and games and the food was delicious. Make sure to book a table in advance as it's really popular. What a memorable and special holiday.

Great little campsite, peaceful location. Site owner very friendly and helpful. Given wifi password but signal very poor.

Pitch was great, family in tent put close by. Weather not great, brightened up after first day. Went to local pub for a meal, which was lovely. Hubby recommends the rhubarb cider.

Although site was good, toilets weren't. Only two toilets and two showers for women. One look at showers and i waited til i got home. Hand dryer was poor.

Small friendly site, with a warm welcome. The river Irt runs alongside the site so you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee right next to the river - even managed a dip and the children (9 & 11 yo) fished. Walk routes from the site mean you don’t have to move the car if you don’t want to. We walked along the river to Nether Wasdale (nice pub) & up Irkton Pike which has great views. There is a cafe (10 mins) and pub (2 mins) within easy walking distance of the site which was handy on a rainy evening. Shower block was clean & warm and showers were good. Friendly and knowledgeable site warden (sorry, totally forgot to get his name). Picnic benches for some pitches were handy. Level and nicely spaced pitches

Parking on some of the pitches means you open your tent to directly face people’s cars but we just moved our seating round to the river side - can’t beat that!
