Everything is well kept- grass neatly cut, excellent play area for kids, dog field for off lead exercising and allocated games field for football. The toilet blocks have increased since my last stay (although the white building ones were closed as open during weekends and busier times) and are due to be expanded further, work was being done on creating an indoor washing up space too, kept beautifully clean. Still a bit of a walk from the pitches and could do with some localised toilets for night time trips- just a couple situated in the centre would be great, but do get that would be a big expense to get plumbing out that far.
Owner came round and chatted with the kids in the play area to explain the opening and closing times to them in a really friendly and positive way, explaining what “dusk” means and how to tell that it’s time to leave the play area.
Another addition since my last stay is the vehicle registration security bollard, I really did feel more secure knowing that only booked campers could enter.
Excellent communication email prior to arrival, giving details on the site and facilities, with a detailed explanation of how to pitch within the allotted area.
Mariette was so friendly and lovely to talk to, super helpful and great with the kids.

I will ask for a shadier pitch next time, as the pitches in Oak and next to them are very open- so it means full sun ALL DAY 🥵 Not ideal for heat sensitive souls and dogs, not the owners fault but mine for not considering it when booking.
Also, it might be worth giving the pitches a roll, as a mole hill popped up next to our tent and there were a few dips in the ground from what I can assume were previous mole hills. Again, local wildlife is not the owners responsibility, we are camping where they live, just a consideration for the long term maintenance of the pitches perhaps.

Great site, so quiet and well spaced pitches. Very clean and tidy. Friendly owners, loved the fact it had a designated play area for ball games, a play park and an enclosed dog area for off lead exercise 👏 close to amenities and areas to walk, great location!! Will definitely be back 😁

Site was spacious and had a nice layout in regards to different sections for tents-electric and non electric, caravans and even an area to play ball games safely away from campers.
Pitched us right next to the park onsite as knew we had young children.
Lots of information put up for local walks, shops, hospital and pubs (please note local pub recommended is not open Mon & Tues as we discovered, luckily we decided to drive there and didn't walk the 30mins!)
Toilets were always clean, never saw them being cleaned though during whole stay. Was like there were magic cleaning fairies!
Didn't use showers but looked spacious and coat pegs to hang clothes/towel always a bonus.
More than one set of toilets if site is busy and the same for washing up areas, hot water for washing up too.
Very secure site, number plate recognition for bollard entry and exit from the site. If you have changed vehicle since booking please update reg otherwise this obviously won't work.
Ash bin was handy, not always on every site.
Site was quiet for tents during my stay but a quite a few caravans/motor homes in their allocated area. Was relaxing and peaceful no nuisance campers or late night music or anything. Not sure what it would be like if tent pitches were busier though.

This is personal preference but whilst there is the bollard entry and an intercom to speak to owner who was always polite and helpful I just didn't like that they don't come out to greet you or introduce themselves at some point. Saw a couple of men working between shower and toilet block but couldn't tell you if they were staff or tradesmen just working. Never saw one member of staff if there even were any. Have been to many sites over the years and always meet the owner at some point during my stay. A few arrivals stopped me whilst heading to wash up etc and asked me where to go as they were unsure too.
Check in is from 2pm this seems quite late to me. I arrived at 12:30pm in the hope pitch would be ready as check out is 11am. Owner seemed a bit reluctant to let us on and billed us £5 early check in.
After arriving I recieved a brilliant arrival email packed with information, how to use bollard entry, pitch number, map of site and facilities but this would be helpful the day before check in as also tells me I would be charged £5 for arriving early. Do think whilst the early check in isn't a steep price to pay but when the campsite was quiet and no maintenance to be done between pitchers like grass cutting etc is this really necessary. Have been to many sites early and they are just always happy for you to get on site and get set up no hassle.
States they have fridge/freezer on site, we had difficulty finding this and discovered it was an under counter fridge with the tiniest of freezers in the women's toilets under washing up counter disguised as cupboard. Apolgies if it is but don't belive this is stated in arrival email but even some signs posted on site for campers who would like to use it.
Again not the owners fault but during my stay there were a couple of men who felt they could just enter the women's toilets and use the washing up area when there were plenty of others not in use. This made me feel uncomfortable and therefore didn't let my 10 and 8 year old daughters go down to the toilets unaccompanied (toilets are quite a distance from pitches) Maybe some signs up with a gentle reminder to remind campers to use correct facilities. Again not the owners fault and there were some foreign campers on site so possibly a language barrier for reason why.

Well set out pitches. Brilliant showers most had a toilet and a shower giving plenty of room to store clothes and nothing got wet! Also never had to wait for a shower & always had hot water. Can’t explain but just a really nice vibe across the site, even though it was busy it was still really peaceful.

No fridges or freezers. Washing up areas not covered. However there is plans for more toilets and washing up area.

We loved this site, was so well looked after and the extra security measures were a peace of mind.
We arrived a little early however the gates let us in and we followed our welcome email for our pitch, I loved how organised the site was and the instructions they asked you to follow. There was a map of how to lay our tent out along side you car depending on the size of your pitch, it worked great so will be taking this tip with us in future.
The site was immaculate, we have never seen such a perfect pitch in all our time camping. We are positioned near the park, think they try accommodate this if booking with smaller children.
The toilet blocks were a little dated but always kept clean and tidy which was difficult with the grass cutting and the wet weather but couldn't complain at how on top of this the team were. There is new toilet blocks that were built or in the process of being built but a sign was up to say they only open these when its busy which make sense.
Overall fantastic stay and would return if planning a trip near the area

Very nice site, clean and tidy, toilets and showers clean and plenty, fenced off nicely and a great little dog field on site. White markers to show your pitch boundaries.

Anpr didn’t work 3 times for our motor home. pitches are too close together and it wasn’t busy when we went but everyone was bunched together. Toilets quite far from some pitches and the walk there is poorly lit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Folly Farm. Lovely service, great communal showers and toilets. Very quiet even with children next to us. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommend
