Location and amazing pizza

Better toilet and shower facilities

Gorgeous setting, friendly staff. Washrooms clean and well appointed. Campsite is well maintained and not too big, with level and roomy pitches. Pizzas were very welcome on our arrival night. Small bar which was very busy when we arrived on Friday, but quiet for the rest of our stay. This is a family run site so don’t expect a slick operation, but that’s one of the reasons why we liked it-relaxed but they got the job done . Lots of walks very close by, would have been good to be able to access some via the campsite, but none were marked and it wasn’t clear if the land was accessible. Local towns such as Monmouth and Coleford have plenty of amenities. Local pub The White Horse serves very good food and has a beer garden.
We stayed the week before the start of the summer holidays, the weekend was busy with family groups, but during the week it was very quiet.

Our pitch was close to the road which gets busy & noisy by 05:30, so if you are a light sleeper would recommend you ask for a pitch further into the site.
Option of buying basics such as milk from the bar would have been useful but appreciate this could be a hassle for staff.

Spotless camping pod. beautiful location, very comfortable beds.

Excellent family friendly site, play area and cafe and loads of space for kids to burn off energy. Pizza from cafe was excellent. Toilet block clean. And best of all every was quiet at night.

Lovely scenery, friendly staff and clean and tidy grounds. Club house did nice breakfast and pizza. The donkey in the field behind us was very friendly, he would always come over to us and give us a big toothy smile.

Very smelly at times, smelt like sewage. Ladies shower block could have been cleaner, although I appreciate there are people constantly in and out.
