A aimé The peace and quiet. Morning wake up call with the cows mooing. 2 bathrooms that were impeccably clean and of a really high standard. Owner was a pleasant guy too and took time out of his evening (we arrived at 7pm) to have a chat and make us feel welcomed.
N'a pas aimé Leaving.

A aimé This is my ideal size of campsite for our quiet getaways. We had a wander down the canal to the next bridge then came up onto the road to complete a triangle of around 2miles on the sunday. Pub was busy but friendly however we didn't eat there as we'd got everything we needed onboard. Coded barrier entry which is given to you when you arrive (check in at the pub). Toilets were basic but sufficient and pleasantly clean. shower block is behind the pub rather than on the same site. it looks like the owners are planning on getting a number of static caravans setup with the bases looking almost complete. you'll need a 15-20m power lead, and either a long watering hose or come containers if you're filling up a motorhome. pitch 3 was a little node down even when on my levelling blocks but side to side was level enough.
For a short peaceful break I'd recommend going here, expecially if you like to sit in a country pub beer garden on a warm summers evening.
N'a pas aimé You do get a bit of road noise from pitch 1,2,3 (we were in pitch 3) as the road is right behind the van, but i guess the further down the field you are the less you'd notice. it is only occasional though once the pub shuts. wife wasn't keen on making her way over the road to use the showers, but that's only minor.

A aimé Perfectly level pitch, a very tidy, quiet restful place to be (at least in the first week of October). I did need my longer power cable as my usual 5m cable wasn't quite long enough. Very pleasant staff, both on reception and the gent mowing the grass. The facilities were all very clean and sufficient for the size of the camp. Enjoyed the visit from the resident ducks.. you can almost hand feed them.. and the fish pond in the courtyard has some enormous fish which we lingered around to watch, which just added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Most certainly a site we will keep on our "would return" list
N'a pas aimé Because of the proximity to the road and railway, you can hear the occasional loud (boy-racer) car and train fly by (you can't hear all the normal people's cars). But that is only very occasional which didn't really bother us, and we didn't get our sleep disturbed.

A aimé Sign on the wall says ladybirth cottage just so you know you are in the right place.. On arrival we had a nice welcome from Sue, who showed me around. Everythings there that you need for a chilled out relax which is exactly what we were after. Almost totally level pitch (3), We just needed to put the one side on the bottom of the ramps to make it perfect but to be honest.. i could have just left alone. Clean showers and toilets. There is also a drive over motorhome drain down area but we just used the wastemaster to save us time when leaving. When we arrived we were given a choice of plots but i would assume if you contact them directly you could reserve your plot especially if you have a longer vehicle.. which we would probably do next time we visit. There is gravel everywhere so you can avoid muddy feet if it rains. Plenty of trees to hide out of the sun on hotter days and the area is teaming with birds (who are constantly singing away), The lane is a little narrow but I managed to get a 7.5m 4 berth motorhome down it.. and there was a 20seater converted coach there when I arrived.. so as you can tell it's plenty big enough.. Although we didn't use it the games room is a nice touch and there are some take away leaflets if you don't want to cook and they deliver to the gate.
Especially liked that Sue popped over the next morning to check we were ok and if there was anything we needed, We always like to take a walk about, and she told us of a walk we could take. We really enjoyed our stay and we'll be adding the site to our small list of places to revisit.

A aimé Nice peaceful location, almost level pitches (pitch 2 needed a little lift at the back)
Good clean toilets and showers, lovely and warm inside too
N'a pas aimé The weather recently meant that we didn't fancy a walk down to the aqueduct as the canal path was too boggy so looks like we'll have to pay another visit :-)

A aimé Just got back today and I have to say I'm very impressed with the service and facilities at Westbrook Farm Park. We are new to motorhomes and this was our first outing in our first vehicle and everything went according to plan made nice and easy by
1) Almost dead level pitches
2) Fully serviced with water/electric/ingenious grey water drainage at the plot and also satellite hookup for the TV
3) Welcome pack despite our late arrival clipped to the office wall (office closes at 6pm on the friday.. we arrived at 7:30pm) which had plot number, orientation of site (i.e. park this way round .. and also lots of useful locations (we'd forgotten to grab some bits.. but postcode of local tesco's was included - lifesaver !!)
We asked a couple of questions of the lady on reception who was very helpful and friendly and even gave our little dog a dog treat.
For those with children there's a large play area which i just know that had we taken our grandson i would have had to sit beside for the whole day.
At the back of the park right next to the river is a public walkway which my wife and I walked in both directions.. which was clean, well kept and a joy to walk.
Back at the park, the bathroom/shower block was extremely clean with the lady off reception visited a few times a day to make sure all was well.
Park was pretty full on the day of our arrival but everything was 100%, they really did themselves proud.
There is also a book swap shop for those book worms amonst you.. and those that aren't they also hire out set top boxes so you can watch a little tv if your TV isn't setup to receive via satellite. (ours was so i literally just screwed the cable in and his retune!!)
So the big question is would I go back.. and my answer is 100% yes..we are already planning to make a return visit when the park is a little less busy.. and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to my friends and family.
Thank you very much for having us.
N'a pas aimé Not really applicable to the site itself.. but it's a real shame that the pub that's right on the doorstep has closed down..
Really minor thing, the wifi was a little hit and miss on the evening.. but I'm going to put that down to the fact there was almost a full camp (the router was probably running out of addresses. Error wifi connected - no internet was showing on the phone) as the morning usage seemed to be fine with good strong signal on 2.4g and 5g with no dropouts from pitch 3

A aimé As first time visitors and only our 2nd night in a motorhome we found the whole process of booking and staying at this site really simple.
Communication was excellent before hand with regards to access to the site.
Location details were great and we drove straight to it.
Upon arrival we had 2 gates that we had to get through. Both codes had been texted over well in advance or arrival
We then drove around to a pitch of our choosing and were pleased to see there was a picnic bench on each plot.
The electic hook up also included a drinking water point which was ideal for us in a motorhome.
The utilities block was fantastic with disabled and ladies toilets on the front,
Gents on the opposing side (and a couple of washing up sinks), and 4 excellent shower/dressing rooms on the 3rd side (bins were on the final side out of view with the chemical and grey disposal points) talking of grey water disposal there is a drive over drain for motorhomes which makes this task a piece of cake.
The quality of fixings and the overall finish was excellent. They were also spotlessly clean.
The site has various paths laid you are free to walk/cycle round and there are hundreds of trees planted that although still young just go
to show how much thought has gone into the site.
Reading a poster on the utility building it looks like they haven't finished yet, with a pizza and a tuck shop arriving soemtime this year.
We chose this site as a last night of our motorhome rental that was in touching distance of home and i'm so glad we found it.
I think this may be a regular spot to visit when we find our own motorhome.
Keep up the good work team Bowbrook.
N'a pas aimé Not a dislike, more an observation, You do hear the occasional truck driving down the main road, but as soon as the trees start to grow this will be significantly muffled.
