Warm and friendly welcome, quiet field surrounded by farm animals, perfect base for site seeing

Nothing to dislike

Part of me doesnt want to give an honest review for fear it may be one too popular and we would not get back on! The campsite was small, but this was genuinely one of my favourite things about it. Children, old and young, played freely together. They fed animals, played go karts, soaked each other with bubbles. The owners were kind, caring and patient. They trusted the children to be kind and to feed the animals and it created a beautiful atmosphere on site. On the day we stayed the sun was on our side, and the owner offered everyone ice lollies! In the morning the children collected the eggs for breakfast we ended up buying more to bring home. The whole experience was something out of an Enid Blyton novel!

This place is a small site which we liked. There are chickens, alpaca’s, sheep, goats and ponies. Colin and Tracey are very welcoming, allowed our daughter to feed the sheep, took them to see the ponies and through the field to see the goats. There are local takeaway menus in the shared area, and the chippy delivers (pay by bank transfer). It’s very peaceful.

We also think the location is brilliant, you have crocky trail, bewilderwood, Chester zoo and the ice cream farm all within easy reach.

There isn’t enough facilities. Yes this is a small site, but when we were there, there was 8 pitches. There is one shower which also houses a toilet. One other toilet. A kitchen sink which is next to your ‘bathroom’ sink. I often had to wait to use the bathroom and/or sink.

You do also have use of a freezer, but this is locked away in the ‘shop’ meaning needing to get the key, walk out side the gate to the freezer. I’d suggest if this on offer, please make it easier to access. Or even better, provide a small under the counter fridge for guests, remove the bookshelf.

Everything. Absolutely everything.
The hosts were ace, the site was fantastic. All the kids played together and had a great time.
We will be returning.

Everything! This was the nicest campsite I've ever stayed in. The setting was beautiful and Tracy and Colin couldn't do enough for us - they were exceptional hosts. The kids loved interacting with the animals, and the pitches were spacious, level and solid. Thank you for a wonderful break.

The perfect site for our family! The children can feed chickens, brush the pony and go in the field with the sheep, goats and alpacas. Well maintained site and the owners could not do enough for you! Recommend and will be returning soon

If towing a caravan I would recommend arriving at the site from the east. If you drive from the west along church lane the turn into the site is very tight

Absolutely brilliant campsite highly recommend! Perfectly clean everywhere! Nothing was to much trouble, we have just come home and didn't want to leave! we had the best time and our children had such an amazing time they met lots of new friends, and animals! Tracey and Colin are the perfect hosts not to mention their dog, who entertained all the children, brilliant facilities, and the perfect safest place to let you children enjoy time outdoors with new friends, thank you for a lovely relaxing weekend! we will be back soon x

There is absolutely nothing to dislike.

The couple running the site were amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. The children loved the animals and the couple were so willing to show them around the farm and let them get involved. The pitch was level and dry. The shower and toilet were clean. We had no issues at all and will be going back this year for a few more weekend breaks.

The owners Tracy and Colin, were extremely helpful, friendly and informative of the surrounding areas. Couldn't do enough for you. Facilities were kept clean at all times, lovely rural farm, very tranquil and beautiful views perfect for all ages. Already booked to return.

Everything! Site lovely. Really clean facilities. Flat pitches. Lots of farm animals including some very cute babies. Tracy and Colin were so friendly and welcoming. They were amazingly helpful to us as our visit didn’t go to plan! Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend.
