Really great, relaxed campsite to stay at…if you’re looking for 5* luxury this probably isn’t the site for you! We’ve stayed here before when the campsite had just opened and it was just a field with some porta-loos and farm activities. Facilities have been upgraded since as well as ports-loos there is also a toilet cabin and hot showers, the showers do have a £3 charge however. The campsite provides plenty of bricks which you can use to build your own campfire, firewood can be purchased from the campsite or the local supermarket. The barn has been converted so it now boasts a stage with seating, a bar and a snack bar. Over the bank holiday weekend there was live acts on in the barn and a bouncy castle for the kids. On the Saturday there was a slip and slide on the large hill. There are animals on the farm to see and stroke which the kids really loved. There is a rocky river on the side of the campsite which you can access by a bridge or from the bottom of the campsite. There are plenty of lovely walks near by and the village of sedbergh is a short walk away. It’s a lovely campsite and we will definitely return and would highly recommend.

Whilst I have no issue paying for a hot shower, £3 per person per night soon adds up to a lot! We’re a family of 4 my son is young enough to share a shower but it still cost us £9 for one night. I understand the need to recoup the cost of having the shower block, however, maybe this needs looking at, more people would probably use the showers if it was more cost effective? If you add that £9 onto the nightly site fee you’re paying the same as you would for a campsite with a proper shower/toilet block and free to use facilities 🤷‍♀️

The area is breathtaking. So beautiful and tranquil, yet only a short walk into the town. The perfect place to relax 😌

I would stay again and recommend as a 1 night stay, any longer would be difficult due to the facilities being so hit and miss.

No slip and slide for the kids- had an email beforehand saying to remember swimwear!
Shower block locked up during one of the afternoon sessions, so unable to get washed.
Food not available all day as stated on welcome info. Completely closed on the Tuesday evening.
Portaloos becoming increasingly smelly and well overdue an empty and freshen up after a busy and hot BH weekend.

Lovely scenery - shop close by that was open early and shut late. Campfire pit bricks available. Quiet and very pleasant!

Showers only allowed to be used on bank holidays? No owner at the site to check in with or talk to. Couldn’t buy campfire wood at the site, even tho it was said in the description. Substandard at best in comparison to what is expected.

We arrived on a blisteringly hot bank holiday Sunday afternoon. We were greeted at the entrance and directed to select our tent pitch-despite it being busy there were still plenty of spots to choose from. In the evening, live music entertained us (with the help of a couple of beers, ha!). Facilities were well located, clean, and always available. We would definitely recommend to others to visit! Fantastic.

Beautiful location and super friendly staff . The whole trip was soooo much fun.

Lack of facilities went for a shower in the allocated time slots to find it was locked up. Also not enough for size of site . No slip and slide for the kids as mentioned on website .

Very Spacious, even with the amount of people there over the May Bank Holiday it didn't feel crowded at all.
The Portaloo's were very clean and there was easy access to water and bins.
The site had on entertainment, both evening and during the day for children. Farm animals were dotted around the site too.
Close proximity to the M6, and the Lake District/Yorkshire Dales - definitely a good spot to stay if you want to explore (i'll be going there again!)
Even some local walks you don't need to drive to, a river to play/sunbathe at.

I was alone with my dog but the fellow campers, as well as the owners, were very welcoming and friendly.

amazing place, lots of friendly people and great interactions with all the animals there. Loved the barn that served breakfast and dinner options. Campsite was clean and fields were great for tents. Many attractions near by and lots of things to do in the town which is a 10 minute walk. Would 100% visit again.

Absolutely brilliant site in fact one of the best we've ever stayed at! The family who run the campsite are so friendly and helpful! The site is located across the road from a slow moving river full of stepping stones and a waterfall! The kids played all day paddling. On most weekends there is a love band on in the barn which sells alcohol, soft drinks and food and not badly priced! The kids also loved the farm animals from lambs, calves and goats to dogs and chickens oh and ferrets! Would highly recommend this golden gem! Can't wait to return 😁
