We appreciate it was a bank holiday weekend but there was no main permanent toilet block, showers or washing up facilities. Instead there were portable toilets in each camping field and main temporary block of toilets and showers. These were unclean and smelly at the best of times throughout the day. Because of this we wouldn’t stay again. Washing up had to be done from a cold tap in a field and as a result there was food all over the grass.

The farm was very well signed and the newsletter that was sent ahead of our arrival was incredibly informative and made it easy to find everything. The staff working at the farm were incredible, everyone was so friendly and polite and they looked incredibly happy to be there! The bar on the campsite is very reasonably priced esp for drinks, we had bfast there both mornings and the food was very tasty! The showers were basic but very much did the job after a hot sweaty day out walking. I do think the main showers and toilets are only open on BH weekends so worth checking!

I read all reviews and welcome all feedback. This review is completely wrong and out of context though.
We pride ourselves on our easy arrival procedure. You received a welcome pack with all of the arrival information via email in advance. We are relaxed, we like you to find a location that you choose and set up without us hassling you for administration. Staff were available from 1000hrs - 2230hrs on your day of arrival if you needed help or advice.
10 hens are housed in a shed 8 metres x 4 metres x 2 metres tall. We aren't allowed to release them outside because of avian bird flu (imported from the continent). By any measure, this is a large space to house 10 hens.
Our 4 dogs are kept in a double kennel 10 metres long x 2 metres wide, They are walked twice a day and enjoy the freedom of the farm. 3 of them are retired but the 4th is a working dog and he runs loose with me most of the time throughout the day.
The lambs and calves are 60 metres from any music. Children were not allowed to go in the calf pen without the farmer. The lambs are used to people as they have been reared by hand since 24hrs old. We promote children engaging with animals and interacting because it's how they learn. They were supervised by adults and all the children should be complimented on their respect for the animals.
I accept that this may be different to German culture with rules and regulation, but this is our culture in the Yorkshire Dales and we are proud of it.
