A aimé Peace & Quiet, location, scenery, helpfulness of the owner and also the price.

N'a pas aimé Boggy walk to the toilet block, fire wood was damp and wouldn't burn so down £5 BUT the owner offered to reimburse me which I was extremely happy about but declined.

A aimé This campsite is such a gem. I have just passed my 10th stay here. I have camped in both my campervan and in tents and the setting is so good. Not many hard standing pitches which are needed in winter, but never had an issue finding space. My dog loves it here. 10/10. Great walks from the site in both directions, and close to Betws y coed.

N'a pas aimé Being a solo camper and as it was so peaceful, I really did notice when couples arrived and can hear their chat.
Maybe have just a solo area 🤔

A aimé The pitches were spacious and could easily take our 6.4 long campervan.
We loved the location, as it was early March it was super quiet with only a few other campers.
The toilet block was cool: from the outside it looked like shephards hut, a bit dilapidated but when you opened the door the contrast was amazing, very clean and welcoming.
This is a very basic site, be warned.
If you're fit there is an outstanding walk that starts at a footpath across the road, follow the road out towards the entrance to the site and then up the wooden stairs, then across to the footpath - it is incredibly steep and you will need a map, but you can wend your way through woods, and over streams into Betsw-y-Coed, taking in the beautiful resovoir along the way then meander around this lovely town. You can then take the train back to Pant-y-Pont station and then the short walk back to the site (no roads involved) along the footpath which takes you through woods and along the river.
This is a great base if you want to go hiking/climbing in Eryri/Snowdonia.

So glad you enjoyed your stay on our basic campsite
The walk over the hill via the lake to Betws Y Coed is special. There are places where the views are stunning. Do come again.

A aimé Amazing scenery and location. Only stayed 1 night as touring wales north to south. Has shower and a proper toilet building. nice small village nearby for any essentials and a go outdoors.

A aimé Nice simple site right next to a river, 2.5 miles from Betsw-y-Coed on quiet woodland paths and short time on the road. This time of year (Feb) it was very muddy so was grateful for the hard standing and the ability to have a fire. A couple of toilets and showers on site - fine when quiet, might feel different when full in the summer.

Mud in winter is unavoidable. That’s why we have built 10 hard standings
Lots of local campsite close in the winter because of this problem
We limit numbers in the winter to eliminate thd need to park on muddy ground
