For (pretty much) guaranteed sightings of deer at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary (20 minutes), try to be there between noon and 3pm (April–September), when the herd gathers in the main field for feeding time. Walking and cycling trails weave their way through fir and oak trees in this area of ancient woodland if you'd like to try spotting the animals at different times of day. If you've got younger kids in tow, set off to spend a day with a different kind of animal. Paultons Park Home of Peppa Pig World (half an hour) has gentle rides like miniature trains and sailing boats, and Peppa and her fellow cartoon characters also make regular appearances.
