N'a pas aimé “The staff member was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He came across as intimidating and behaved like a bully, clearly having no time for us. He repeatedly looked us up and down in a very disrespectful way.

He told us to move cars that were not ours, despite us explaining that our vehicle was already parked in the designated area provided. He also took issue with us going out for dinner to explore a local pub, which was completely unreasonable.

He then questioned whether my 5-year-old daughter had a fishing licence, despite the fact that I held a valid licence and government guidance clearly states that a child of her age does not require one. The way this was handled was unnecessary and confrontational—we were only able to fish for around 30 minutes before feeling uncomfortable.

Most concerning, his attitude noticeably changed as soon as he heard our South African accent, which felt discriminatory and unacceptable.

In addition, we specifically booked a pitch with electricity as advertised. However, we were later told that there is no electricity available on the tent campsites. This was misleading, and unfortunately no one offered a solution—only an apology, which did not resolve the issue.

Overall, this was a very upsetting experience and, without question, the worst camping day we have ever had in the UK. This should be taken seriously.”

A aimé Lovely spacious pitches and showers. Well presented entrance and shop, sadly didn’t get a chance to try the cafe but looked good from the walk past.

N'a pas aimé Bathrooms were a bit messy, no toilet brushes for the previous occupant to clean marks left in the bowl. Also the bathrooms were left a bit smelly. Dog friendly but cannot walk around the lakes and no dog friendly areas marked out.

Dogs can be walked around the lakes once fishing has finished for the day and can be walked on our field on a lead. This is communicated in our confirmation email so apologies if you missed this. We have replaced the toilet brushes in the toilets and also refurbed the shower block. Our toilets are cleaned very regularly, but unfortunately, we can't check them after every visitor...

A aimé Peaceful quiet site with plenty of space. Toilet and shower block heated. No traffic noise

N'a pas aimé Postcode provided when on SatNav only directs to M69. Have to input village and street name. Problems with the electric hook up as the designated box wasn’t working, trip switch very flaccid and as I arrived after 4pm unable to get help. Mobile number provided for Out of Hours came back as incorrect. Had to use another hook up point and even had to check that later that night

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for the review. We do include directions to use in our confirmation email, stating to not use the postcode due to this issue. Apologies if you missed this! The out of hours number is definitely correct so again, apologies if you had issues with this. All posts have now been repaired also.

N'a pas aimé Hookup points are a little too far around 15m especially when the grass is wet and muddy. Potholes could do with filling in

A aimé Easy site to book, stayed last weekend and agin this weekend. Close shops, great fishing. Loads of room for dog on 20m lead outside van. Toilets/showers clean, washing up area nice and clean and well lit. You are given a gate code so no probs after the 4pm deadline

N'a pas aimé They could do with sorting some pot holes out, it’s not really a dislike but to be mentioned.

A aimé Great size pitch, toilets realky clean and warm in the block, there were only 2 showers (female) one was broken however the one that worked was lovely rain fall shower head. Great views of the lakes. Nice outdoor washing up area under cover.

N'a pas aimé Needs a bench/seating area in the shower room. Grass was very boggy take your wellies. Some of the electric points are broken it was very hit and miss. Could really do with an electric point upgrade and more of them.

A aimé The pitches were indeed spacious. I can’t say anything much about walks etc as suggested by the app because the site was pretty boggy due to the volume of rain. I stayed here during my first week at a new job & as the NEC show was on, there wasn’t much else available with power & hard standing & showers in the area.

N'a pas aimé Potholes - Wow they were a lot on the site roads. Admittedly there’s potholes everywhere at the moment but the site had a lot of them in a small area making the drive very bumpy.
