A aimé Good location. Spacious camping area beyond lodges. Very friendly & helpful welcome. Bring bottled water - also available in shop - no problem! Walk through woods on dog walk trail with views of Kerrera Sound through the trees.

A aimé Lovely little campsite in a meadow with babbling brook. Everything great. If you’re looking for a very peaceful, rural site in a quiet corner of the South Lakes this is ideal. Very friendly welcome from owner. 1 loo was fine for this size of site. Brand new and in adjoining farmhouse, and ditto for a washing up area. Cows & pigs in nearby fields, a picture of rural bliss. 30mins amble to Heft, which although a Michelin restaurant (!) is also the local pub with excellent beers and some great bar snacks. Loved it.

A aimé As description makes clear this is a peaceful no frills campsite. Plenty of space when I visited. A lot of the site slopes but there is a large flat area also. The portaloo was clean, the washing up area under a lean-to perfectly serviceable (cold water). I was surprised you have to bring drinking water, but no problem at all. A couple of shelves by washing up had bottled water, firewood and firelighters, all at reasonable prices. Help yourself to fire pits- there seemed to be 4 or 5 available when I stayed. 20mins stroll to M&S/Aldi etc, 10mins up a lovely footpath to locals pub (no food when I was there). Site owner very friendly and helpful. I had to move my booking around and he was very pleasant and helpful about it. Thanks!

A aimé Very quiet and somewhat basic campsite - exactly what I wanted. Exceptionally friendly welcome from Melanie owner, who obviously takes a pride in the special atmosphere and friendly vibe of this hidden place. I camped down in the lower valley which was private and quiet. Very nice!
