Emplacement pour camping-car sur sol dur et herbe sans électricité
A aimé Back to Shepherds Crag for the second time this year. I try to get there a couple of times every year. The view you get as you hit the farm drive always lifts my spirits. Although only a few miles from the motorway it seems very isolated which is good. I can use Joe's camping stove to make tea and his sawdust toilet to do the stuff we all do in the mornings. My favourite time is just before the sun creeps up over the fells. Often just me and the sheep. I tend to go feral, but there is a shower on site too. If you are a reasonably early riser you can watch the cows moving up to their pasture. Very moving for me, as my father kept a herd of cows all his life no one keeps them where I live now. After an early start walking over the fells all day, turning in and just the sounds of nature doing it's stuff. As ever I always advise bringing your wellies, this is Cumbria wonderfully wet at times. Then for me, back to the concrete covered flatlands down south.
