Lovely, picturesque place. Very easy to find from the a19. Great spot for swimming. Lovely atmosphere with others around all swimming together and enjoying the weather

A map really is needed. We struggled to find where things were and felt like we missed out on some lakes on the first day as we couldn’t find them. Other people were asking each other where things were all the time too. Spoke to cafe staff as they were the only ones around at the time - very helpful and kind - but it was obvious that they were sick of being asked where things were and campsite related questions. It also felt a bit steep to be expected to pay for swimming each day on top of camping payment, especially when the facilities were extremely basic (not 50+ quids worth)

So quiet! Lots of space to choose from. From our pitch we watched stars and listened to owls.
In the morning it was misty but so atmospheric to swim early, glimpsing the heron and all the jewelled spiders' webs woven on lakeside foliage.

Beautiful place, spacious and quiet, it all felt very relaxed. The lakes were clean and lovely to swim in. We will definitely come again.

The toilet is a bit far for night time. Maybe a portable loo nearer the tent pitch can help. We were also surprised that we had to pay extra for swimming when the main attraction of this camp site are the lakes. It was a bit pricey.

Honestly such a beautiful, restful place. Gorgeous site, the swimming lakes are stunning, it’s quiet, calm and tonnes of room to spread out your pitches. We stayed one night, watched the sunset and stargazed whilst enjoying a fire pit, spent a day by the lakes the following day and then stuck around for the full moon swim the following evening which was really special. Highly recommend all aspects of the site and will be coming back as soon as I can. Easy to find also, quiet and rural but not so off the beaten track you feel totally cut off.

Genuinely nothing - shower/toilet block is a little outdated but it’s clean, well kept and exactly what you’d expect in a campsite, and I believe it’s due to be refurbed :)

Long walk to the tap

Lovely site with fantastic swimming. The area for camping is pretty flat which is great and there were plenty of picnic benches and firepits available. There was lots of space between pitches, we didn't feel crammed in or too close to others at all. We loved sitting out in the evening and listening to owls and watching bats. We also saw a hare! Short walk to the toilet block which was regularly maintained and always had plenty of toilet paper. The highlight for us was Captain Jacky, the very friendly and cheeky jackdaw who came to say hello and provided a lot of entertainment as she went from pitch to pitch to see what she could steal!

The site feels really natural and not over-managed - which is lovely but does mean that signage is quite minimal and it took us a while to find our bearings and figure out where all the lakes were etc. A little bit more signage wouldn't go amiss. Also other campers weren't following all the site rules (playing music, using a generator, etc) which slightly spoiled the atmosphere. Not the campsite manager's fault but just a bit of a shame when we were hoping for tranquility. Finally, I booked swimming with the camping, but then when you sign in for swimming you're supposed to write your swimming ticket number and I couldn't find it anywhere on the pitchup emails or booking info. This could surely be made a bit clearer or easier.

Oh lord, what is not to love.
Boring bits - toilets and showers cleaned daily and are perfectly reasonable for a weekend use. There are signs to greet you which are clear, friendly and comprehensive. Parking is good. Organisation of sauna times and changing room area by the Monet lake works. The cafe has lovely meals and cake options, and space indoors and out, offering shaded and open areas to eat / drink.
Soul food: I have never camped anywhere that embodies trust and a commitment to the love of nature so beautifully. The walks to the lakes from and to the campsite alone are so tranquil and full of awe and wonder. On a warm weekend at the end of September, the campsite was not crammed which was a joy. The lakes are stunning. The accommodation of all types of swimmer is perfect with a tranquil lake, a fun, jumping in from a mid-lake platform lake, and one for a longer swim offering a more tranquil experience for older children who love to swim alongside their grownups. Perfection.
We weren't far from home, but felt like we had been transported to a place of great healing and relaxation.
There was nothing I did not like. Swimming with ducks and fish was magical. I am very grateful for our visit and will be returning.

Super location and loved the lake swimming. Great to be able to bring the dog too. Loads of space on the camping site so no one was too near one another.

The site is so quiet and relaxed x me and my daughter loved the wild swimming.
The cafe was lovely and the cakes went down a treat after a swim wish it was open all week although my waistline probably won’t x

Only 1 shower for such a large campsite.
