Beautiful for swimming in the lakes.

Shower and toilets are basic but being redeveloped.

A beautiful, peaceful, flat site. Very well maintained grounds with a cafe on site.

Being a ‘mature’ couple we found the toilet facilities to be too far from the camping field. Also we were not able to find a tap with drinking water apart from the facilities at the main gate. Personally we would not stay here again but it’s ideal for younger people.

Stunning location with close by park and ride into York! Loved captain Jack the friendly Jackdaw!

Facilities, especially showers, were muddy when used. If not mistaken, people visiting the lakes who did not stay the night at the campsite used same facilities as campers and therefore facilities might need cleaning more frequently for that reason!

Lovely big camping field with basic facilities a walk away. Swimming in the lakes was a highlight. The time and effort that's been put into the re-wilding and upkeep of the land and lakes is a credit to the owners. The wild flowers and animals are a joy. Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It’s my happy place, it’s the most tranquil, heavenly, haven on earth and I absolutely love it. I’ve camped here and go very regularly for swims and SUP and saunas and full moon swims and coffees and delicious food. It’s where I go if I’ve had a bad day, it makes me feel better. It’s where I go if I’ve had a good day, it keeps me feeling good.
I’ve given 5 stars for WiFi because there isn’t any and I have no signal across a lot of the site - absolutely perfect!!

Toilets and showers could be improved but I think there are plans in place for that soon

LOVED EVERYTHING, lovely chilled out, laid back atmosphere. Campsite was lovely & spread out (we were there on a Thursday night)

Staff were great & friendly, nothing was too much trouble & always had time for a chat!

The resident savage attack vulture, I mean attention wanting birdie was awesome. You have to meet Jack!!

Lakes were superb, a little nippy, maybe you could turn the heater up a notch (kidding :-) ) Once in & acclimatised it was a heck of a great experience!!

Trees, swimming lakes, free and easy attitude, camp where you like, fire pits.

Bit of a walk to the loo. Having to pay every day for swimming on top of camping seems a bit pricey.
