Loved the views and how quiet it was. Kids loved watching the trains go by. Toilets and showers were clean and everyone was so friendly.

No staff over weekend. (Couldn’t get into the site to begin with, called both numbers to no answer, needs to be better managed)
Toilets and showers where clean when I arrived but due to no cleaning being done over the 2 days and more people there they got messy very quickly.
If want to fish have to pay normal rate(should be discounted if camping)
Road into head fen is awful(not the retreats fault)

Absolutely stunning place. The views are just beautiful and so tranquil. 3 nights wasn't long enough, we could have stayed and enjoyed it for so much longer. Perfect getaway for total relaxation.

Nice location for visiting Ely and Cambridge. We saw 2 beautiful sunsets and were very lucky with the weather.

There was a mix up with our pitch. I had booked an electric pitch but was texted a pitch number which when we arrived at Head Fen was non electric. The reception staff had left at 4.30 (we arrived at 5.30) the number displayed on the reception doors just rang and rang with no answer, just answer machine. I then received a text to say that the usual reception staff had been on holiday for a week and things had got a bit mixed up. The text said 'I believe pitch 7 and 6 are free'. We pitched in 7 and hoped for the best that no one turned up later that evening who had been booked on pitch 7.
There are only 2 showers and 2 toilets on the camping field and they are quite a walk if you are pitched at the opposite end of the field. There needs to be more toilet/shower facilities.
I was told by another camper that reception only opens 2 days a week. I find this bizarre to be honest. One of the toilets was blocked and there wasn't any staff around to fix the issue.

The tent area to open , first day was to windy. Personally prefer with trees around to keep a bit safe from wind and rain .

Poor customer service, absolutely no communication before arrival about how to access site.
Reception closed throughout stay, never saw any staff, tried to report an injury my son sustained but no answer on reception phone number.

The campsite is obviously a complete after thought. £30 is extortionate for what it is. Facilities are new but below par for the price.

Tried to contact owners before posting this review for them to make an effort to rectify out concerns but heard nothing.
Don't waste your money on this site.
