Great campsite but doesn't exactly have a playground as advertised on pitchup.
On arrival you check in at a little hut just past the cafe on the right. There's also a small shop next to this selling some basics. They aren't manned all the time but there is a site radio and mobile contact number for the site manager.
The facilities were pretty good. There's several toilet and shower blocks provided that service the 3 main areas of this small site. Toilet roll is provided but best to bring your own along as stated, as it does run out later into the day.
There's a small kitchen which includes communal fridges and freezes as well as a toaster and microwave which are actually really useful especially on longer stays. There's also laundry washing and drying facilities on the first toilet block.
The cafe on site opens mainly later in to the week, and on a Saturday there is a mobile fish & chip shop with reasonable prices.
We were really happy staying here for 5 nights and if visiting the area we wouldn't hesitate to book a stay here again.
Something to note is electric heaters are not permitted within tents on this site.
The only slight negative was the advertised playground which is in fact just a small wooded area. The kids loved playing in here but unfortunately we felt it was a little unsafe to let them play by themselves there as there were quite a few old broken ride on cars that looked abandoned. There was also homemade rope swings and a branch shelter which I wasn't happy leaving my kids to play around unsupervised. As stated in the disclaimer children shouldn't be left unsupervised anyway.
I think the only suggestions I have to turn this from being a great site to an amazing one would be to sort the play area out to a safer standard and provide some child booster steps for the washbasins in the toilets as my 6 and 3 year olds struggled to reach.
