Freedom to chose where to pitch up
In one of two fields. Excellent facilities and a little extra, a fish and chip van and onsite breakfast bar. So good for tenters
The whole site was clean and tidy. Obviously the weather affected conditions on the ground .

I went as none electric and was given a pitch on the grass with tents and I was in a motorhome . This was not good when we had the heavy rain however after speaking to the lady in reception fir the second night she let me stay on a hard standing pitch so I thank her for that .This is my opinion the campsite is very large so it does not suit me also on the description on the website through pitchup it says the grass pitches look over the lake which is not true .

The campsite was peaceful clean and tidy. The staff at reception was polite and helpful.

Thus just may have been bad luck on our part but there was no or very little hot water either to wash up with or shiwering.

The grounds where good , hook up good . Central to many places especially castle Howard and the lovely Yorkshire lavender garden ⭐️ .

The showers would go cold when it was busy . and the men’s toilets smelled of wee most of the day

Camp in lovely location and site grounds kept nicely.
They did move us when asked as the horrendous rain meant that as we were under a tree we had zero sleep(not blaming weather on site).

No mirror where hair dryer is, so hair a bit hit and miss..
Shower/toilets not cleaned very well as even after the daily clean the floors in the showers were mucky. The showers were warm the first day we were there and then cold, I reported to reception and they said they’d get maintenance to look at, next day still cold, not much point in reporting if they aren’t fixed.

Nice reception, good showers and wash toilet facilities, a freezer to use for cold box blocks, in reach of great Moors rides.

Close to main road traffic noise, no late night courtesy from fellow campers drinking around campfire until 1:00am… and not asked for by the campsite… just seemed a bit of a money grab! No scenery, no shop, nothing special.
