Clean toilets, lots of swings, lots of entry points to the river

Nice quiet campsite, good on-site clean toilets. Excellent for wild camping, nice to be able to have a firepit on our pitch. We toasted marshmallows and made toffee apples. Also next to river if you want to take a dip in the hot weather - would definitely return. Good phone signal in this area. Aldi, B&M and Go Outdoors only 10 minutes away by car.

Pick your own pitch. Field is very flat and the drainage is great. The site gets the sun all day yet it’s exposed to a good breeze. A river runs by the site and there is a rope swing over a lake in the wooded area. People were using inflatables/paddleboards and the kids were fishing. There are no showers. There is a washing up area with water (NOT for drinking) and tap. 4 toilets with washbasin, all separate and scrupulously clean, well stocked - covered in whacky wallpaper 🤣 You can borrow a fire pit for free & there are bags of wood 3 x &10. The site itself is very well maintained regularly and is very tidy. I took my 2 terriers who were made very welcome as were all the other dogs. It’s a site for anyone, whatever age. It appears suitable for those with a disability and I saw a lad in his wheelchair who was able to access a toilet cubicle and wheel across the grass no problems. Thanks to Polly & Tom, who are available on site, for a great, relaxing stay. I’m definitely coming back.

No rubbish bins on site so ensure you have sturdy rubbish bags & remove your own waste. I did ask about this & if I’d asked I could have arranged something - always ask 🤣

The site itself is great. Toilets are basic but cleaned regularly, we have visited before so knew where the entrance is (little bit tricky otherwise). Friendly and helpful staff, great location the kids loved playing in the river. 10/10 for location on a sunny day. Pick any pitch you like, obviously next to the river is busier but it was nice sitting next to the river chilling.
Lovely area for wildlife, stargazing as no light pollution and fishing if you like it.

Unfortunately some people don't have consideration for others and we were kept awake till the early hours both nights of our stay by seperate parties. It was 3.45am on the second night (and they only shut up then because I went and had to ask them to be quiet, not ideal as a female to a bunch of lads) and with no out of hours or security as such on the site people could just do what they wanted. Maybe a suggestion for the future as my kids love the site have a section of the site for families and one for groups who want to party.
Didn't know we had to take our rubbish home with us until we saw the lack of bins so would of been nice to know about it beforehand, a shame some people just dumped rubbish but not the sites fault.

The site was lovely and spacious with a river that was perfect to kayak along.

It's was a beautiful location with the river, the kids had lots of fun on the rope swings, wash to find.

Enough toilets. They were kept in a clean state throughout our stay. Lots of spaces to choose from. Enough space to take a little walk. Very relaxing.
