Aimé The pod/ camping area was generally well-kept, the toilet block was generally as clean as you would expect for a shared area.
The staff on site were really kind and enthusiastic, whilst all seemed a little distracted with the “Marlie fest” they were clearly excited and wanted it to be fun for all!

Non aimé Our pod itself could have done with a deeper clean, the children found discarded plastic bottles down the side of their mattresses on the bunk beds and there was debris under the beds.
Outside our pod there was rubbish /cigarette butts which I cleared myself on arrival.
Our electric went out. And although staff came out to fix it, it went off again, so on return to the pod after the entertainment at 11pm we found it was off again and our cooled items in our cool box fridge were no longer cool. However, we called and staff came out again so although frustrating staff did rectify this for us.

Aimé The swimming pool
The pod was very clean and tidy and spacious.
The communal showers were clean.
The reception staff were wonderful and welcoming
The shop staff were helpful

Non aimé Only wished there was a toilet in the pod walking at 3am to the communal toilets half asleep and scared of my own shadow thinking if I get back alive is not the one. 😂

Aimé The location is lovely and very peaceful,
The pod is spacious but could do with a couple of hooks in the walls to hang things.
We liked we could still have a bbq and bought our own cooking equipment to. We normally do camping but my little one has broken his arm so we thought this was a better option and we are so glad we did.
Parking available so you don’t have to lug all your stuff far either. Bonus that you get access to the pool and facilities to. There’s an onsite shop for any essentials you have forgotten to. Dymchurch beach is 10 mins down the road we spent the whole day and had a lovely time.

Non aimé Shower blocks were in need of some tlc they were very dirty when we arrived but once cleaned they were ok. I feel these need to be checked maybe twice a day I’m not talking full clean even if just the floor is wiped down. There’s no communal fridge. This we struggled with when ever we have been camping there has been a fridge so it was very hard to keep anything cold. Either a communal fridge or a small one in the pods would be great.

Aimé POD was spacious, clean and also liked the space in front where we setup our temporary kitchen and our kids enjoyed playing on the open green grass..

Non aimé Toilets needs bit renovation but it’s fine.

Aimé Pod was clean and ready for us. Very quiet site with good access to toilets. Swimming pool lovely but staff needs to make bookings system easier and not ask for pass cards when cards where shown at the time of the booking in the office.

Non aimé There is only ramp to get into toilets. It will be nice to have couple of stairs to get there quicker but still good.

Aimé Der Platz war sehr schön. Die Ausstattung war gut.

Non aimé Die sanitären Einrichtungen wurden von den anderen Gästen sehr unhygienisch behandelt. Zum Teil war es grenzwertig schmutzig. Das Problem liegt hauptsächlich an den Gästen - es sollte als Reaktion dennoch öfters geputzt werden.

Non aimé What was meant to be a short family break turned into a disaster. We — two adults and two children — stayed at Marlie Holiday Park on the 4th of July and were placed in Pod 10, which turned out to be severely infested with bed bugs.

On the first night, we noticed some movement in the bed but didn’t think much of it — it was late, and we were exhausted after travelling. The shock came the next morning when we found dead bugs and a large number of blood spots on the sheets. We reported it straight away and were moved to another pod the same day.

We sent photos of the infestation to the local manager, who simply acknowledged receiving them and seemed more focused on pointing out that we’d been moved — almost proudly — rather than showing any concern. There was no apology, no follow-up, and no sign that the issue was taken seriously. It was only after several chase-up emails and escalating the matter to Head Office that we finally received any proper response.

At the time of the move, there were no obvious bite marks, but within a few days, all four of us began developing painful, itchy bites. What we didn’t realise is that bed bug bites don’t appear immediately — they started showing up 3–4 days later, continued for nearly two weeks, and took just as long to fade. The discomfort was ongoing and genuinely unpleasant.

Eventually, the General Manager contacted us — but the only offer was a refund for the accommodation, with no recognition of everything we had to deal with: a GP visit, antibiotics, out-of-pocket medical costs, and a day of unpaid leave.

To make matters worse, Pod 10 was re-let the same day we checked out, raising serious concerns about hygiene standards and guest safety.

One of the most worrying parts of this whole experience is the very real risk of bringing bed bugs home, which could have turned a bad holiday into a months-long nightmare. Thankfully, we managed to avoid that — but I honestly don’t even want to imagine what it would have meant for our home, our children, and our lives if that had happened.

This wasn’t just an unfortunate incident — it was a clear failure in health, hygiene, and basic customer care. The lack of accountability from local management and the bare-minimum response after escalation made an already stressful experience even worse for our whole family.

Aimé Nice quiet place. Not too busy. Clean and well organised.

Non aimé Water in the shower way too hot. Not possible to adjust hot water temperature, too dangerous for everyone, especially little kids.

Aimé Pods are great and surroundings are nice as a bit out of the way

Non aimé 24 pods with only 3 showers per sex! Each pods sleeps 4 people. Not enough facilities for people however they are hot.
Also the club house is really not great for families. Security guards, very expensive drinks and food plus the children's entertainment was terrible!
