A aimé Very welcoming campsite, in a lovely location. It was very easy to find, and the staff very friendly when we did arrive. Explained everything we needed to know about the campsite and as first time campers.

Loved the ability to just find a space in the site and pitch up. So at this time of year when they said they had 50 on site, and can take I think 450, meant plenty of space to find our own little area. Even with a section closed off due to being out of season and upgrades/maintenance taking place.

The showers/toilets/washing up block was kept lovely and clean. No problems at all with any of the facilities on site.

Another couple who came to say hello to our German Shepard while we were outside the wash block, said they’ve been here multiple times, which says everything you need to know about this site really.

The ground of our chosen area was a bit sandy, but that meant it drained really well, so with rain overnight on our first night, we woke up expecting puddles and mud, to find neither of those things.

The guy who checked us in, while doing his morning campsite checks, came over to check in on us and made sure we were alright as first timers.

Other than our kit failure, we had a lovely time. We only ended up staying the first night and most of the day while deciding what we were going to do for the 2nd night, but the wind and the rain of the first night wasn’t compatible with the tent we’d been given for free. We had managed to stay dry, but the damp had creeped through, and with more wind and rain forecast the 2nd night. We decided we didn’t want to put ourselves off camping again. So packed up that evening, but I’m positive we will be back, with a more waterproof tent, and better bedding.

A aimé Excellent location with unmarked pitches, just advised to stay at least 6m from neighbours. Clean toilets and showers. Friendly welcome.

A aimé Site is fabulous, the new forest is beautiful and being so ‘out in nature’ with the ponies having free wandering rights is great

N'a pas aimé Although we were told under no circumstances to pitch closer than 6 meters we had 3 groups of loud campers do exactly that.
Facilities, although clean were a little cramped

A aimé The site is lovely camping amongst the trees toilets and washing facilities are good, ponies wandering around

N'a pas aimé No nighttime management. First night a loud group at gone 12 woken up to an argument between them and another camp.
The 2nd night a group of around 5-6 teenagers music on and shouting at 1:30am until I eventually went over to ask them to switch it off and keep it down despite a 10pm noise curfew seems to be no enforcement of this
