With the promise of everything from stargazing and birdwatching to beach hopping and sea swimming, could you be swayed into a stay at scenic 2Posh 2Pitch at Burnham Breck? With such a memorable name, as well as a comfy setup including five-metre bell tents equipped with rugs, single airbeds (plus fitted sheets) and an outdoor dining area, you’d certainly think so… Eco-friendly types: you’re catered to here: this park’s non-electric, with solar lights, a couple of gas showers, clean toilets and a Belfast sink for washing up. To keep small sorts busy, a big open field is on hand for racing off excess energy while parents stoke up the communal firepit (wood’s available to buy from the warden). Restful times are also to be had simply lying on the grass surrounded by fields with views out over the coast in the distance. And now onto the practical bits: get your grub for grilling in Burnham Market, less than a 10-minute walk away, to use on the bell tent’s outdoor barbecues, or stroll over for eats in the restaurants, cafés and pubs in the village. Lengthier meanders can be had to Burnham Overy harbour (half an hour away) or at the coast, with the beaches of Holkham and Brancaster (10 minutes) as well as Wells (15) and Hunstanton (25) all a short drive away. Bringing furry friends along for the hol? Dogs are permitted at this park and can roam free in a designated area at the end of the site (but must be kept on a lead elsewhere and not left in bell tents alone).

For picnics, try Holkham Hall a 15-minute drive away, where visitors can find spots for spreading out after walks in grounds of the 18th-century estate, whether in deer-filled parkland (follow the green arrows), around the lake (yellow arrows) or in the farm (red arrows). If you’re a cyclist bring a two-wheel ride for the designated biking paths. A 25-minute trip away, Pensthorpe Natural Park is fab for families, with explores around a 700-acre nature reserve and woodland area to be had. Interactive trails and eco play areas keep the kids from moaning and groaning, and you could also fend of grumbles with a promise of fairground antics at Rainbow Park 25 minutes away...
