A aimé Well what can I say, what a beautiful, tranquil campsite… Stayed for 4 nights with 4 children and didn’t leave the site once… kayaking and wild swimming, enough room on our pitch to play a game of rounders..
Perfect site for our family. Hot showers, clean toilets and lots of open space.
We didn’t stay on the eco pitch due to a booking error with pitch up but Fi managed to accommodate us else where, Fi is super friendly and inviting and available whenever we had a question.
If you love nature and like a quiet campsite with lots of space this is a gem…..

N'a pas aimé Wasp’s…. If you decide to go take some wasp repellent, they were pests when preparing food and eating, we found burning coffee helped keep them away….

A aimé Yes the site is basic , with long grass and minimal facilities. but this was as I expected. As others have said the spacing between pitches is massive. I was here in a heat wave and school holidays but it was so peaceful . No problem with the heat as the nearby river is excellent for cooling off and then having a rest in the hammocks in the shade. Toilets were festival style but clean and tidy. I will come back again

N'a pas aimé Nothing ! If you want a summer camp packed with activities and amenities , with screaming kids running amok , and packed in like sardines then dont come here!

A aimé Quiet spacious site.
BBQ pack and bacon. Some of the best meat I have eaten and the bacon was just excellent.
Swimming in the river.
Clean toilets (portaloos)
Hot showers

A aimé I liked the about of space there was. Plenty of room between each pitch and the whole site was very spacious. Having easy access to the river was really good too. The field seemed fairly flat so most pitches looked level. Though the ground was quite hard where we were pitched but it hadn't rained much. There are some lovely walks from the site. Fresh meat & eggs were available from the farm shop. The site is away from the road, so very little traffic noise, lots of wildlife sounds though, which was lovely. Being away from the road, you get a good sky for watching the stars, though some light pollution can be seen, probably from Oxford. This site is fantastic for families with children that are happy in the water, you can spend all day at the river with easy access to the toilets.
Toilets and showers are very basic but were clean and usable.

N'a pas aimé The long (0.5km) walk to the toilets from our pitch, which isn't really a big problem. Our only real dislike was the cold water situation. As it was very warm when we visited, the water from the cold tap was actually hot by mid morning, and as the day went on it became to hot to touch. We think this is because the pipe for the water was over ground. We realised this after the first day, so just filled our water bottles early in the morning then kept them in the shade at our pitch.

A aimé We really enjoyed D‘Oyleys Farm, because of the space, swimming in the river, and fire making possibly. Showers were wonderful!

A aimé The setting of this campsite is nice and this is the second time we have stayed here. The children enjoy being able to run free and play by the water. The campsite is not crowded and you definitely have your own large pitch. The showers are also lovely and hot!

N'a pas aimé The owner is responsive to messages and comes across nicely via message however I have had a different vibe when meeting in person on both occasions. Some of the grass on the pitches are really spiky, so something to consider if you have blow up beds! No bins on site or at reception meaning you have to take it with you, which is not ideal when you have a dog to clear up after!

A aimé Grote groene plek. Hartelijke ontvangst. De rust in de avond en ‘s nachts. Voorzieningen waren basic, maar proper. We bleven 1 nachtje, omdat het een tussenstop was. Maar het leek een leuke plek om nog een dagje te blijven en een duik in de rivier te nemen. Fijn dat er een koelkast was waar we onze spullen in konden leggen.

N'a pas aimé Ondanks dat we het al gelezen hadden in andere beoordelingen, maar het ons niet goed konden voorstellen, bleek het echt een lange afstand te zijn naar het sanitair. Het was niet ‘even naar het toilet gaan’. Maar niet té lang 🙂

Réponse du gestionnaire : Bedankt voor uw beoordeling. De staanplaatsen zijn voornamelijk ontworpen voor zelfvoorzienende voertuigen, dus de toiletten zijn extra voor degenen die deze faciliteiten niet bij de prijs hebben inbegrepen. Onze excuses voor uw lange wandeling - we onderzoeken hoe we dit kunnen veranderen. Ik wens u een fijne zomer.
