No me gustó: If you want to have a fire make sure you bring your own fire pitch as we had to go out and buy one as they are not provided but fire must be kept off the floor. We found on in a store in Keswick and was perfect.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay on our campsite, and enjoyed your pizzas and used our shop.
I will try add the info about the fire pit on to pitch up so future campers know.

The weather wasn’t kind to us with storm Kathleen so we became bogged down and he came to rescue us with the tractor!

Traducir (A través del Traductor Google)Me gustó: Beautiful location, spacious campsite which wasn't too crowded. Pitched right next to a stream which was lovely to fall asleep to! Allowed raised BBQs and campfires which is a must for me! Quiet at night, nice owners who re-opened their shop when we arrived too late, so that we could buy firewood - much appreciated :) Showers were lovely and warm, and big so could fit everything in without dry clothes getting wet! Toilets were very close to pitches, nice and clean. Only 2 but was enough for the number of guests when we were there.
No me gustó: Would have been nice to have some paper towels in the bathrooms to dry hands. No hot water for washing up/washing hands in toilet which is a shame when it's a cold night!

We should have hot water on the site this week. As explained in previous review responses, we should have had hot water to open up the season with but they couldn't get it linked up to the solar panel to fire up the boiler so we've hopefully got somebody coming this week to do that. We're so excited to be able to have hot water on site for our campers as this is something we've wanted to do for a while.
The hand paper towel dispensers have just arrived yesterday and will be up this week too.
We hope you'll visit us again in the future.

Campsite was relatively basic - as described - and ideal for a 2 night stay.
The cafe and barn were welcoming- altho were both only open until 4pm.No me gustó: No hot water and poor lighting in the campsite washroom.

We do have a great location and unbeatable views 😀 and we like to keep it a basic campsite as it keeps the wild remote feel to the site.
The shop and Tea Stop is only only till 4 at the moment just because it's not busy enough. But we will be open longer when the sun decides to appear and it it becomes busier.
The hot water is on its way, we've heavily invested in it this winter and just at the last minute it was unable to connect to the solar panel to make it come on, which we were devastated about. But next time you visit we will have hot water in the toilets and washing up area. And the lights should be stronger too, but also relying on the sun to help with that one 😊

We chose to pitch up on the lower part of the campsite where the river runs through. Only 2 other people remotely near to us which was a bonus too. The pizzas on a Saturday night are delicious we devoured 3 of them.
No me gustó: Could do with a hot water tap to help washing up pans etc, other than that can’t fault it.

We aren't far away from getting the hot water on the site. We were so close to getting it on for the start of the season, but unfortunately we needed a different type of electrician that wasn't available at such short notice before the Easter Bank Holiday.
We hope when you return you will have hot water down there, as this is a big investment for us this year.

We're sorry you haven't appeared to enjoy your stay with us. And we completely understand about the hot water situation. As explained in previous responses, we are farm tenants and we've invested alot into getting a boiler etc down there to provide hot water but just last minute the electrician wasn't the right person to link it to the solar panel. Because it's all off grid its been very hard to do, and we were so disappointed that we couldn't announce at the start of the season that we have hot water for the first time ever since the campsite opened, over 50 years ago!
Anyway, we're glad you liked the location, we have to agree, some of the views are the best around and the bus route makes even more walks so much accessible without using your car.
Maybe one day you'll try us again. We hope so.

Traducir (A través del Traductor Google)Me gustó: We really loved how the campsite wasn’t overcrowded despite being fully booked! They give you plenty of room to choose from so you can have a quiet camping trip.
The views around the campsite were genuinely incredible, there’s a lovely stream running down the one side of the campsite which is very atmospheric and the hills around you are something else!No me gustó: The main issue that we had with the campsite was that there was no hot water for washing dishes and your hands, it made washing up after cooking even more distasteful as your hands were numb by the time you’d finished!
When washing hands there was also no way for you to dry your hands after, meaning that you would have to wipe your hands on your jeans or use toilet roll.
People have complained about the location of the showers being too far away but I don’t think they were far away at all. However I would say that it does need to be a bit better signposted by the red phone box.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our campsite and we're glad you loved the pizza, the scenery and the atmosphere of the site.
We completely agree about the hot water and we have just installed a boiler down there to provide hot water on the campsite, but unfortunately the man installing it needed a different person to connect it to the solar panel, which didn't happen in time for the opening. As you can imagine we were so disappointed we couldn't open with hot water this season, but it should be completed in the next 2 weeks. So hopefully if you return it will all be working.
And we are working on the signage for the showers. We have completely redone them this year to make the short walk extra worth it 😀
