I booked the lodge with a hot tub for me and my husband and it did not disappoint. It was very clean, immaculate even and plenty of room for the two of us. The hot tub was amazing and the shower in the room, it was also lovely to have the option of having a fire.

The only thing that wasn’t good was there was a group of young lads and girls in a couple of lodges down from us. They were slightly noisy at times and they left a terrible mess around the communal fire pit, it wasn’t very nice to see when opening the door in the morning as our lodge was opposite. However, the owner had spotted it and went to their lodge to tell them to tidy up which they did.

Only pitched up for 1 day/night but received a friendly welcome from the owner on arrival, even walking us down to our pitch which although was on a slight slope, wasn’t an issue for us. Also, we had forgotten to bring milk and a lady in reception kindly helped us out even though it wasn’t something that was stocked. The site had all the essentials that we needed and overall we had a very relaxing and pleasant overnight stay.

Dogs not allowed in toilets as I wouldn’t leave dog unattended in tent.

Even though we were only there for 1 night it was a very clean site and the facilities were also very clean. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival.

The only thing i didn't like was the button in the showers that has to be pressed about once every 20 sec thats only my opinion as I have a bad back and it was a lot harder to shower but I do agree it saves water.

A truly lovely little site, when we arrived the office was closed. But a quick phone call to the out of hours number and I was greeted by a lovely chap who made us feel very welcome with it being our first trip out in the caravan and being complete novice’s.

We have an autistic 2 and a half year old daughter and she absolutely loved it just pottering around the caravan outside.

Toilet block very clean aswell

I would definitely recommend this site to anybody who doesn’t want much from a site.

Nothing to dislike

Very peaceful, not busy when we were there, mid May. Very well maintained site and lovely clean facilities. Very reasonable prices.

Not really a dislike but maybe a problem for some. There are 2 toilet/shower blocks but only 1 in use at the entrance. If you have mobility problems, as I do, and are at the lower end, it could maybe be a problem if you don't have facilities in your van.

Just done 3 nights for the Tommy sleep out. Loved the site, facilities and mostly the staff. We will be back next year same time

Clean and modern facilities and nice little play area for children. For £13 a night you get what you pay for and it was perfectly fine for one night (we took our own camping toilet to distance to facilities wasn't an issue)

Non electric camping section on a hill and difficult to find flat ground to set up camp. A few campers got stuck trying to leave the next morning due to a combination of boggy ground and the hill. Quite an uphill walk to the facilities which are located by reception (recommend you take a toilet with you)

The welcome on arrival was friendly and set a positive first impression. The toilet facilities were clean and warm, and the barrier access added a reasonable sense of security. There is also a small play area for children, which is a useful addition for families.

It quickly became clear that the site operates a two-tier setup, with non-electric campers directed to a poorly maintained lower field. The entire site sits on a noticeable slope, with very little genuinely flat ground, making pitching difficult. The lower field in particular was boggy with long grass and a steep exit, and several campers struggled to leave. Throughout the day and night there was a constant, intrusive hissing noise from a nearby gas facility, which significantly affected the stay. The contrast in upkeep between the electric pitches and the rest of the site is hard to ignore, with the former being well maintained and conveniently located, while the latter feels neglected. Access roads are also deeply rutted, especially into the lower field. Overall, the layout and conditions make what should be a simple overnight stay unnecessarily difficult.

The Site Warden who met us at the gate was pleasant and helpful

difficult to access - not answering calls, messages not returned until much later and quite grumpy response. very hilly site - the 'flat' pitches were too steep to rectify with our ramps. long, uphill walk to toilet block. central, closer, block not in use.
