I love this site. It's the 2nd time we've been there and it's so friendly and clean. Great walks for the dogs and there's a pub that does food only a 10 minute walk away. Looking forward to coming back again soon

Nothing disliked anything but one improvement would be a longer hose for when you're emptying your waste pod. It's needs tightening at the tap also as you get soaked

The calm and peaceful surroundings with excellent facilities and wonderful woodland and riverside walks with the dog. Will come back again soon.

A wonderful spot in the walled garden with generous pitches and a delightful sense of tranquillity. The freedom to walk in the grounds of Paxton House when visitors have gone home is a huge bonus. It felt like a real privilege. No Wi-Fi but a really good mobile signal - and who needs it anyway in such a lovely spot? This could be our best site ever … but currently falls short.
We would love to come back but only with certain flaws fixed (see below).

The loo was out of action and, according to the notice on the door, had been so since April. We visited in October! I know there is a UK-wide shortage of plumbers but this is ridiculous. There is a functioning loo/shower presumably for disabled use but it meant queues, even though the site was half empty. There is a confusion about the facilities on this site. Pitch Up says there aren’t any but Paxton’s own website says there are. We checked when we visited the house last year and they were clearly functioning. Frankly, had we known the current situation, we would have gone elsewhere. Incidentally, on the fourth day without hand soap, I drove into Berwick and bought some for general use. You don’t have to be a microbiologist to understand what happens to cistern and door handles on an overused facility where no one can clean their hands! Incidentally, we never saw a member of staff in all the time we were there.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff.
We attended a car show while there which was a fantastic way to spend our afternoon in the grounds.
We love the walled garden for the campsite.. so peaceful & pretty with the fruit trees around the walls. We come here a few times a year as it’s such lovely place.

One of the 2 toilets has been out of order for a long time. I realise they don’t advertise they have toilets as they are really there as an extra/ disabled toilet but they are well used so inconvenient when only 1 available.
Also, no dish wash area & I wouldn’t fancy using the wet room shower.

Site location, pitch size, well kept .
MH grey water empty point and drinking water of which no mention of this on web site .

Lovely setting, ample facilities for our needs. Great place to explore north Northumberland or borders Scotland. Shame the house wasn’t included in the price to view but lovely gardens and dene. Very picturesque.

Beautiful grounds & large tidy pitches.

After many visits we were very disappointed this year. Unacceptably loud noise from the wedding marquee untill midnight, although we were warned of some noise from weddings! Also noise one night & from 6am the following morning from antiques vans coming & going to set up for the fair. A visiting youth climbed up the espallier fruit wires on to the historic garden wall & walked along the top, swinging off tree branches. A warden is definitely required. Only card payments accepted, even in the cafe.

The location is lovely and you can walk into the village of Paxton where there is a fine pub (The Cross Inn) serving good food and interesting wine/beer.

Honestly? The noise from the function (wedding) would stop me returning in the future. I assume there would not be anything on in the marquee when the Paxton Music Festival is on, so that is probably the only time I would return. Facilities are minimal (2x shower/sink/toilet) but did the job for one overnight.
