Access to the fabulous Shire horses

This place is so beautiful with scenic views from the campsite and so quiet. We were greeted by the owner who was extremely friendly and happy to chat about the farm. The far wasn't actually open when we visited before the season had begun, however, the museum section adjacent to the facilities was open an provided a fascinating insight into the history of the farm and the drum horses provided to the Household Cavalry.

Location
I stayed here for 7 nights. It was the perfect place to use as a hub, easy access to walking routes. Ancient woods, iron age forts.

Off season meant that the farm is on reduced opening Wednesdays and Sundays.

Very friendly welcome and extremely helpful. Peaceful site with great stargazing opportunities. Had loads of fun with the animals. Even enjoyed a takeaway delivered to the site 😁

So I'm NOT a camper therefore please take this review in that knowledge.
I was impressed with the camping field, the park/sand BARN and the other facilities for younger children.
The owner was really friendly.
There was a garage/farm shop near the entrance for things not available at the onside shop/cafe. Really close to some lovely places too.
Overall, our son really enjoyed his first camping experience here.

Again I reiterate that I am not a camper. I personally found the loo/showers a bit off-putting... although the electric shower was hot/powerful enough...

I really love this campsite this campsite is a lot to offer kids will enjoy and the adults will enjoy to theres a lot of things to do. this is a farm they got animals like horses and donkey.

The farm and the environment were lovely, lots of animals to see.
The view from our pitch was beautiful.
The outdoor play area was okay but does need a make over
All the campers complied with the rules and the campsite was very peaceful at night from 2230hrs

On arrival I walked around the farm area looking for someone / somewhere to check in.
After 20 minutes a young girl showed us to the tent pitch area. Basically a free for all… no pegged pitches and no boundaries.
The toilet and shower facilities were very disappointing and in desperate need of updating. There were 3 showers in total and 1 wasn’t working whilst we were there. The childrens play area and facilities were okay but need a lot of safety checks. The net was ripped and the poles holding the net are rusty and broken. Such a shame!
The farm was closed on the Friday and Saturday so didn’t have access to this ( as booking stated )
Not very well lite when going to the toilet at night.

The location was fab, loved the horses and donkeys. Really enjoyed you had the run of the place in the evenings. The views were incredible. The owner seemed very friendly. The facilities were very basic but very clean.

The children’s play areas could do with a bit of modernisation. It all seemed a bit tired.
